Dog racing seems to be available globally 24/7 - 365 days a year and appears bombproof in terms of weather/pandemic situations. Most races are available to stream live on Betfair for free. I will post here work permitting. Selections will be to Back to win unless stated otherwise.

Whilst you are technically correct sparrow, I felt that was a tad harsh, given that it's the guy's first post in 17 years. Seaside used to post dog racing tips in here all the time, and I can't remember anything controversial coming from that.
 Monty, I don't personally bet on dogs, and I can't speak for everyone, but if you want to put your dog racing tips up on this thread then as far as I am concerned you can crack on. A word of warning though, you will need a thick skin, particularly if you have a losing run. |

used to go in the 70s catford 8 dog races sprints marathons and handicaps were on the card great atmosphere and a cheap night out entrance fee drinks ,although with gambling the cheap night out often turned out expensive and in the words of jim bowen bfh "bus fare home " make sure you saved it!

Foyles, Catford for me as well in the 70s and 80s,as well as the big old galloping track at Crayford before the supermarket bought it and replaced it with the smaller track we still have today
Catford the first track I remember being asked by a kid for money to "look after your car". It was worth paying the 20p or whatever |

Yeah the Gasheads, and Bristol City fans would chant 'The Gas, The Gas, we gotta get rid of The Gas' The last greyhound meeting was a BAGS meeting on a Monday afternoon in Oct.1997. Huge Ikea store now. When they dug up the pitch they were selling squares of turf down Eastville market. 100 years of sport at Eastville which included Greyhound Racing for almost 70 years. |

yes reg i used to live in bermondsey at the time and a saturday would consist of up at 9 am breakfast ,over the the bookies for a bit of study, hackney /crayford or was it romford morning dogs bet on them till the horse racing started then in the boozer a few doors along from the mecca bookies watch the itv7 races and betting on them till they finished around teatime ,then off to catford dogs more betting after that back to mates house for a game of cards ! no sunday races or online those days so not the opportunitys for gambling we have now

FOYLESWAR & Reg, Catford was my second home and I hardly missed a meeting there for over 20 years until it closed in 2003. It's 'no offers' we would have been on the terraces together at some stage.
My ideal Saturday would be breakfast at Hackney Wick dogs, served by Pearl there of course, off to Selhurst Park when we were at home, back to The Crown And Greyhound in Dulwich for beers, then a taxi to Catford for the evening dogs. Or if the Derby heats or another big competition was at Wimbledon then we'd go there instead but Catford was always first choice. A layer you two would no doubt remember From your Catford days was Dave Richardson who was second main layer after John Humphries, I saw him at Plumpton the other day and exchanged season greetings with him and he remembered me from way back then when I was " down to boy". The salad days for sure. |
