I said it last season that a trainer like Tom George must be cursing himself when he has to put up Heskin instead of Johnny Burke. Whatever about the next race interesting to see how Heskin gets on on the good thing later.

Wherever he has gone he hasn't been a success.
As for Shearer not sure the horse is progressing. He should have won on debut irrespective of the jumping the path. He didn't need to match that effort when winning at Warwick and looked awkward in front. He had no chance in the Festival Bumper, and got turned over at odds on today. He seemed to travel and jump well in behind so I am not sure why Heskin felt the need to take the lead so early, particularly after what happened at Warwick. I think Nicholls had entered him in the Persian War. On this evidence that level looks wildly optimistic. |

I would have thought Paul Nicholls will be in Max's ear saying let my own jockeys ride in the future. Heskin has had a very poor weekend.
