No 3, include Hollie?

Think I'll just sit here on my comfy chaise lounge criticising multiple Grade 1 winning jockeys

There is his Top 10 jockeys list too though Reynard, to be fair.
Though I have a suspicion also some fishing going on... ![]() |

Faye Mc , deffo up there

A very poor list
By:
I thought maybe fishing until I saw Lee included.
By:
Some really poor jockeys in this list im afraid sorry.
Anyone that isnt happy, whats wrong with it? |
By:
Comparing OP's list with the Whitley figures, Whitley has four of those listed as above average, and some more not rated at all, presumably because they've not ridden enough.
By:
Racist topic in my opinion everyone in the list is white and British or Irish
By:
Racist to assume number 3, "All the Doyles", are White. There could be hundreds of them in China or Africa.
By:
True

By:
Surely our SPOTY girl isn't in this listing OP?

I will put this in the most polite way possible.
She isnt the strongest in a finish. |

In my view, the most important attributes of a jockey are pace judgement, tactics, balance and timing in a finish. It is the horse that needs the strength although a lazy horse does need a strong jockey.

T Eaves
P Mathers E Greatrex D Nolan G Rooke J Haynes L Keniry H Shaw J Gordon JF Egan All had more than 100 rides with about 5% winners each. |

Hence why Watson is 1) sadly
By:
Can't have a top 10 useless jockey list without including Martin Dwyer imo
By:
JW is dodge
By:
a list that might easily have to be top 20 by the end of the day

Dwyer in my top 10
By:
SDS too
By:
Definitely stick Tudhope in there after them 2 rides at Ascot - shockers.
By:
would it be easier to do a top 10 BEST jockeys? or would we even get to 10?
By:
Pat Cosgrave. Dire!
By:
Cosgrove is mustard when the cash is down evilroy......
By:
Dane o Neill, Tony Hamilton and P J MacDonald are some omissions from the above lists
By:
Cosgrave is a classy individual
By:
Cosgrave is anything but a "Bonus" in the saddle. The money was down there but as is generally the case, it went astray! Good old Pat, lay all day.
By:
Where the hell is Luke Morris?
By:
Swad needs to watch Hollie winning on Glen Shiel in the Group 1 at Ascot last October, if there was a stronger ride on the Flat last year I must have missed it.
By:
I'm not saying these are the "worst" , if only because the ratings may say otherwise, and it's a subjective list, but let's just say they don't exactly fill me with confidence! In no particular order:
Tony Hamilton Tom Eaves Liam Keniry Josephine Gordon Tom Queally James Sullivan Shane Kelly |
By:
If you listen to the 'pocket talkers' then there isn't a decent jockey in the country.
By:
Tiger has a point, I reckon everyone has jockeys/trainers who as a rule, either beat them when laid or are beaten when backed.
It doesnt follow that they are necessarily bad. But it's conspicuous how some names keep coming up. But once again, how can anybody look at Luke Morris and say his style is not at the very least unbalancing horses? Surely that's objective. |
By:
george is aware of the figs
By:
probably take issue with 1 name there who I have as a par rider that I would trust on steering jobs but the 7 other doesn't matter what they're riding immediate line through for me
By:
*other 6
By:
Only back Shane Kelly at odds over 12-1 and to 50p
He can ride, but will he? |
By:
steerforth, I agree, but Sir Mark Prescott seems to disagree, Morris has a 30% strike rate for him on his 3 year olds in Handicaps, strangely though, if you layed every other one he ever rides for Sir Mark you would be very happy.
