In the same race, the fav (Montather) apparently runs too free and finishes last 8 lengths back. Not a lot of questioning on that s**t show. I would have been annoyed/angry at Crehan for that bad mistake but at least I know it was just a human error. Montather would leave me scratching my head though and very annoyed.

yet half hour later he eases his mount 100 yards from the advertising hoarding which signals the winning line and says it’s the half furlong marker that confused him and we’ve got to swallow it.

Everyone agrees it's either a riding error or a deliberate action. I'd suggest 99% of racegoers would plump for it being an error and as we'll never know if the 1% are correct there's not much point continuing the debate. My view is it's a 100% error ;there are far less obvious ways to ensure a horse loses a race it should have won.

I lost 60 pound on Crehans mistake and was gutted but these things happen. No way in my eyes was it intentional. An awful mistake and as a human as all humans we are not infallible. Ive made too many mistakes to mention but all we can do is learn from them which is what Mark Crehan will do.

I think the crehan thing (non-event) was sort of the straw that broke the camel's back after events last month or so

Jockeys going too fast in a race. Jockeys leading on hold up horses or holding up front runners....you see it all the time. Many ways not to win if you dont want to.
