Yes. But not happening in the main place market, where the new (reduction factor included) price is shown in matched bets. Only happening in the 2TBP / 4TBP etc, where matched bets still show original taken price, but graphs show it has been reduced. Been happening certainly since the start of June, since the Derby gave me massive problems working out my real position on the favourite Bolshoi Ballet, after Haggas' horse was a late withdrawal about 1 hour beforehand. Unfortunately trying to explain this on chat would be a complete waste of time and mental energy, so many small annoying things like this happening on the exchange and getting worse rapidly.

By:
Yep it is giving false information making it difficult to manage positions.
Am on chat now and the operator is completely clueless no matter how simply I spell the issue out |
By:
I have never had this problem in any of the place markets but bet no earlier than 10 minutes before the off.
By:
As an example a bet on a 4 to be placed market about 5 hours before the off yesterday did not have the reduction factors applied till after the off despite the non runners coming out shortly after the bet was placed
By:
It's the same in the Each Way market - it would appear the only market they can be bothered to adjust now after a Non-Runner is the win market.
Shoddy Betfair. Going downhill faster than Franz Klammer. I do admire your optimism (The Cheek) thinking that any of the apprentice YTS robots on "live-chat" would understand (or give a sh1te). I think you might spend your time more productively trying to explain Quantum Theory to my border collie! ![]() |

Still on the chat, now escalated to a Duty Manager who has no understanding of the issue either!

The Cheek - The five people that knew how the exchange worked all left in about 2008. Full marks to you for your persistence. GL
By:
If you have them completely confused - but they know deep down that you have a valid point - they will offer you a "call-back".
At that point - open a cold beer, sit back and start growing that beard that you've always wanted to grow! |

cheek, is this on the main bf site or thru an api (or both), does page refresh on the main site not correct it?
By:
It's on the main exchange site and the mobile app - I checked both as thought it may be an issue confined to just one or a display issue my end
By:
ok, not doubting you just hadn't seen it, im mainly using api on racing, ive seen something else which required page refresh on main site, but what you're describing feels like it should be the same on the api as well, i'll keep a look out thanks

By:
It only seems to be an issue on additional place markets from what I (and Andriy) can see

By:
It's also an issue in the EACH WAY markets TC.
By:
sure, but with bf you tend to find problems grow, the site is creaking at times, do wonder whether they are that bothered these days, seems to be the bare minimum of management on the site
By:
as above lol
By:
The strange thing is that the graphs update to reflect new prices (reduction factor etc, you can see that the graph has 'moved down'), but the matched bets only show original price taken... until it comes to settling up.
By:
that's why i was asking whether a refresh changes the prices, im trying to rem what i had but it was on a win mkt and it required a refresh to sort it,can't recall what happened
By:
Yep the graphs reflect the reduction factor so must be a display issue relating to users accounts, impossible to mange positions if the figures are completely incorrect. Duty Manager has escalated it again to somebody who no doubt will be equally useless. I've even suggested I place test bets for them in order to help them grasp the issue!
By:
elise - refresh doesn't work.
In the Each-Way market it's the same as Andriy outlines - i.e. the graph is correctly adjusted downwards but both your matched bets and P&L (the "what if" display) still show the same price/amount that was shown prior to the NR. |

By:
I will try and get to the bottom of this even if it means mailing their CEO. Long gone are the days when a quick call to BF was answered by a person who had an understanding of their product and could resolve issues...
By:
cheers tm, whatever i had did but i'll watch for this one going fwd
By:
Good luck with getting this sorted The Cheek. It's been around for quite some time covering a few upgrades. I agree with everything TM has said about wasting time trying to explain Betfair Customer services.

By:
A predictable response from The Escalation Management Team has been received stating nothing more than settlement was correct on the the example I gave them! I couldn't have spelt out the issue more clearly and even backed it up with screenshots showing the reduction factor not being applied. Will take it to the next level. If anyone has any specific examples of markets affected by this issue then please post here and
I will send them on .. |
By:
Goodluck even getting to the next level sir.
By:
It's going to the CEO's office so one can only hope...
By:
Can you also ask him if he knows Willie Shafter? Ty

The graph display issue described above is the opposite of what happens in VAR footie matches. There they leave the graphs showing erroneous matched prices which have been voided due to a VAR decision, so you still see huge spikes long after the bets have been adjusted.

By:
Finally got through to someone half sensible at BF via their CEO's office and got it raised with their technical people.
A fix should now be in place but do post here if the issue persists |
