Puddles on track rain not stopping before racing got to be 1/4
By:
Amazing how waterlogged it gets :(
By:
Sandy soil underneath. Should drain away pretty quickly if it stops or eases off enough.
Question for us is do we the time to study the form, perhaps in vain or wait for the green light? |
By:
---do we spend the time----- Apologies.
By:
I'm raring only gone for 3, 1n/r 2 will be ok on soft, just waiting so not to get hit with all the r4's
By:
no
By:
I'm a few miles away near Camberley and it's chucking it down. No chance racing today if standing water on Swinley Bottom in my opinion
By:
Where I live when pouring earlier no rain 5 minutes away, opposite now.

odds on to be off on betfair

Ascot Racecourse
@Ascot Following 26mm rain since racing yesterday and with a few false patches of ground which means the ability to race may be marginal an inspection has been called for 12.45. We are also looking at options to re-align the rail to avoid these areas. #RoyalAscot 11:17 AM · Jun 18, 2021 |

Just gonna post that, Deptford
I assume marginal equals a close call? Good to see trying to realign if it's only one section(swinley bottom) that's the problem |
By:
Rain getting worse, must be long odds on now gone
By:
2/1 on 2/5 off
By:
whats the prediction of racing tomorrow, if today is off , and or add a few races from today
By:
If it is just Swinley bottom, would they consider running the couple of mile half races tomorrow and leaving a 5 race card?
By:
They could run them on the straight , begin at the finish line run back around a cone and onto the finish line.
By:
They will without any doubt p1ss about for an hour , form a steering group and sub committee.... and then abandon to give tomorrow a chance.
By:
Andriy
I would settle for your suggestion. |
By:
Good shout Andriy
You'd like to think they'd make every attempt to keep the punters spending money in the bars and restaurants However, sixtwosix suggestion of p1ssing around for an hour more likely, imo |
By:
The coronation stakes of course would have to be moved from the round course.
By:
foxy are you there today ?
By:
1/3 off
By:
Yes posy here all week
By:
In the modern age it has no chance of going ahead.
By:
14 race card tomorrow ,as Cheltenham did when wind wiped out the Wednesday , 2-30 start 8-30 finish
By:
Foxy, we were thinking that it was the swinley bottom bend that was the problem
But, if it's also the bend into the straight then you are corect No doubt then more non runners if trainer not happy with change of draw bias, but that's up to them... Can't remember a precedent of what you're suggesting though |
By:
Move racing back, last race 730, then straight on to football
By:
I was there for that 626, was very tiring that day.
By:
the thought of one blue blood falling over on the bend will mean there is zero chance of racing today.
Management have only one purpose , making decisions. Get on with and abandon rather than the rabbit in headlights we will see . |
By:
At least if today is off there won’t be the problem Cheltenham had on windy Wednesday the pubs running out beer and food and the massage parlours having ques outside,as there is only a small attendance.
By:
The ground when paaen won the gold cup was atrocious but as already stated times have changed.

By:
Ascot clerk is called Chris Snorkels
By:
Maybe what is called the inner flat course can be brought into play if rain is easing at the course however it's still pouring here. The track outside my house is under water ;haven't seen it so bad in 40 years !
By:
Gonna be off, Bollinger in fridge, going out for a walk, no rain here, come back for 200 football.
By:
1.16 now, its off
By:
1.31

Cornelius Lysaght posted this on twitter
if racing off today will be the first time at the Royal meeting since waterlogging of 1964; contingencies revolve around races on straight course-only today or 10-race programme, Saturday (saving group-level races) |
By:
why are they poncing about they are clearly putting the races on so just confirm it.
By:
many horses now N/R
