Before I realised each way was for mugs a few years ago I hated Dettori - would never ride out for the place if he knew he wasn't going to win.
Now that I only bet on the nose he's by far the best and most trustworthy

Depends what is meant by trust. There are a few jockeys I swerve on grounds of incompetence rather than corruption. I choose not to believe that jockeys are routinely hooking up horses on trainers' orders or layers' bribes.

I agree. My criteria are competence and consistency but as a punter, we don't always know which jockeys are carrying an injury, illness or other reason for having a poor week. SDS could not ride one side of a horse 3 weeks ago and went 14 days without a winner but seems back now. Oisin Murphy, David Probert and Will Buick will do for me week in week out. They all have strengths and weaknesses but Buick is the best on an inexperienced novice. All 3 win a lot of photo finishes which is very significant imo.

Bear in mind the type of horses that Buick rides MJK. Classically bred and often needing a run but he wins a lot of races by just coaxing them into the lead in the final strides without picking up the whip. If they finish placed under a tender ride, back them next time. Adayar for example!

Obviously none of them are fully trustworthy. Piss weak and ill-judged rides are given every day - even by the so-called "elite" riders. From race2race they all flirt in and out of Champ and Chump status.

Yes, although often it is only with hindsight that a particular ride is ill-judged. Often success or failure of any plan depends what the opposition does, and that is usually not known in advance.
In many races it does not really make much difference. Flying Dancer is not within 10 pounds of the winner even if maybe it could have come fifth instead of sixth if the jockey had gone half a furlong earlier or later.

on a sprinter - jason hart on a front runner - SDS in a big race over here - Frankie in a big race in Ireland - Colin Keane
jumps over here - standard has fallen big time but I like Gavin Sheehan (as he usually rides from the front) and Jonjo Jr jumps in Ireland - Rachael

Frankie Dettori makes least mistakes. With an easy lead dictating pace I sometimes back him in running. Graham Lee is sometimes on a horse at a much bigger price than form suggests and knows how to get them home in front. Any jockey on a hot streak is worth following until things go tits up.

Colin Keane is pretty clinical….positioning, timing of run and finishing the race. All good.
Ben Curtis is a very smart kid and an exciting prospect imo
Karis Teetan in Hong Kong is extremely good…PoonTrain is hilarious when he mugs them at a big price but got to respect Karis and the scraps he had to feed off after Joe and Zac carve up all the good rides between them. I think if you’re in Europe and taking a horse there then just book Karis in advance…would be my best advice.
