Plenty of Copy cats I should imagine, speculate to accumulate, whilst advertising your investment and  product. Can't get that kind of % profit from the Banks?

He's telling the truth for once - all these computers in asia mining it is bad for the environment. No rules around cryptocurrencies so manipulate away.

Tesla still hold their initial purchase £1.5billion of btc, (tweeted that yesterday) + theres been no big dump on any xchanges, but loads of btc taken off xchanges into secure cold storage.

Its rumoured that he did it (**** on btc) to get leveraged longs(speculators) liquidated, he knows 40 - 50% of btc mined is done with hydro or green energy in China, or he should know, what launches his rockets into space ? + lithium mining is doing way more damage to climate.

It could be he wants to release his own Tesla token, his stock price dropped too after so not that smart tbh.
though imo he just likes to be centre of attention, and he's cost new crypto buyers money he's allowed hodlers to buy at new lows.

It's an utter pointless waste of energy.

Tesla sold 10% of their bitcoin, it was in their accounts a few weeks ago.
The difference is that his story has changed. Only a couple of weeks ago he said they would hold their assets, now he implies they wont.

Its a defunct argument saying x% of green energy is used to mine bitcoin
Since it requires energy full stop, that green energy could have been better used elsewhere
The question should be is it a good enough use of energy?

Central bank's crytpo will crush all these shinnaegans very soon.

Or, to put it another way, 50-60% of btc is mined using fossil fuels.

Anyone who thinks "green" energy does no damage needs to go do some proper research.

What would you do if you were the Chinese Communist Party?

First, subsidize bitcoin mining with cheap power, so that anyone wanting to buy bitcoin has to buy it from you, with hard currency. Then, pull the plug on it, ban it, send in the sledgehammers, all in the name of fighting climate change. The result? The world loves you for the example you're making on the environment. Plus you get to keep all that hard currency. And, you get to sink Elon Musk, knocking out a competitor to China.

Well, it's what I'd do, anyway.

Well, considering bitcoin has fallen by a quarter in the last 10 days, you'd have to get used to withdrawing your winnings immediately to avoid turning that 4/1 winner into a 3/1 one. And then re-depositing every time you wanted a bet.

God knows what would happen to those Chinese computers if everyone started doing that. Are there even enough computers on the planet, never mind the power supplies to run them>?

This is a crucial time. If crypto drops now during inflation worries it calls out the lie of it having a store of wealth

Yep many many sh-t coins and market volatility scared many off, but ETH, BTC, LINK, and few others have great real world uses and massive teams behind them.

Did you know you can buy digital dollars "USDC" "DAI" "TETHER" few others pegged to the real $ (so always worth $1) and you can get 12% in interest compounding. Go get that in the bank.

look at the new "thing" NFTs millions being earnt.

It doesn’t matter. The issue isn’t about scarcity, it’s about value.
Fiat currency has the faith of pretty much everyone.
Bitcoin et al has a passing interest without foundation.

I think its a market were many will get burnt badly, my mate bought cardano, luckily hes a trader on here so when it hit 2.40 he sold it and will buy back in soon he says.

little profits rather than trying to be on the next 100x coin.

in fairness he bought shib with the profit which looks like a shocking coin.

What you describe is the technology, that has value or prospective value.
It’s nothing without substance.
Currencies used to be backed up by gold bullion, it was only when they got cocky they cut the link, but that happened when they took total control

Crypto in this form has no influence and nothing other than the ideology of secrecy

incorrect fiat money was removed from the gold standard theres not enough gold in the entire earth to call parity with the $ that the central banks just keep printing, trillions and trillions to fight inflation rising

Libya wanted to marry its currency to its gold reserves thats why it got bombed to oblivion

This sentence tells me all i need to know smh

"other than drug dealing and money laundering"

Why have money sitting in a bank losing 2% + a year in real terms,

when you can borrow out your GBP/Dollars backed by insurance so your moneys safe and get 10% compounding
By:

People with money don’t leave it in accounts losing inflation
Economics is leveraged between bond and stocks, with a harbour of gold

It’s ofc more nuanced than that with private equity.
