What other hobby would you pay £3.90 daily just to get the information for you to pursue that hobby.
It is obscene the price of our only form newspaper. You are basically paying over £100 per month to get the basic information to have a bet. It is ridiculous this newspaper is not subsidised by the bookmakers. Most other racing countries you get form papers for free. But British Racing has sold it's soul to the bookmakers, resulting in to much racing (5 or 6 meetings on a Monday, racing for £2k winners pot-ridiculous). Betfair and Bet365  put a miniscule amount of money back into racing compared to their ridiculous profits.
At the very least , everytime you have a £5 bet you should get a voucher to purchase the Racing Post for free.

Good post. Last time I went to Amiens in France  on holiday it was raining so everyine was let in free and racecards with form are always free on French Courses. In Dieppe pensiners pay 3 euros with a free form card for the grandstand ( the only ) enclosure. No class distinction in France , you can go anywhere on most courses.

irishracing.com has all the cards and much much more for all UK and irish racing.

£3.90 for 136 pages. How does that compare with ordinary newspapers?

Part of the problem with the quantity of racing -- 5 British and 2 Irish meetings today -- is the sheer amount of newsprint (ie paper that newspapers are printed on) needed, and that has to be paid for along with everything else.

I'm not saying the Post is cheap but you've got to look at the whole thing.

I can't remember the last time I bought it, but seem to recall it was about £1.60. Nigh on 4 quid is a right joke.

Get a tablet and subscribe to ultimate members club for £220 each November. You get the post every day and the weekender. That's 50p a day. The future is on line hence why the formbook won't last either. Paper and ink is just too expensive and snail mail.

£4.20 on Saturdays - if you can find one.

I've absolutely no need for it tbh , doesn't contain anything for strategy contribution.

Last day i bought the paper was August 31st 2007.

Wouldn't mind that information myself know all I have a cunning plan.
Report liberator of the oppressed May 14, 2021 1:37 PM BST

$9.95 for the DIGITAL version of the DRF which is the most popular racing publication in the USA. That's £7 for a digital newspaper.

Completely agree about the excessive entry fees to the Racecourses in the UK. I just looked at when Bath is reopening.....£21 to watch class 5s & 6s. People say the bookies are killing the game, I would put the blame on the racecourses. I see they're all busy booking up mediocre, 2nd rate musical acts again and of course the cost will be passed on to those that come just to watch the horse racing.

£40 entry and you're rewarded with a stack of class 6s and the moronic music of the Kaiser Chiefs.

I wouldn't have the same negativity about the Post as most , but We do seem to be paying more money for less . A Markets page for future races ,has just disappeared, and the Sports section has been absolutely decimated. No crossword  on a Sunday ,although I never completed the whole thing since its first issue.
