She won a maiden and then was basically useless for the rest of the season. After she won that maiden I backed her for both the 1,000 and Oaks at 40/1. Subsequently, I cashed both out and felt pleased to get most of my stake back.

Again, Aidan doing a brilliant job for the bookmakers. Take the winner out and we got the race most punters would have predicted.

Just to add insult to injury I was on Noon Star at 50/1 for the Oaks. Kingscote couldn't get her settled early, but even so she was disappointing. Would probably have been better going forward.

setting soft fractions in front with bonus of half of field not settling in behind...relished the trip...presumably done well from 2 to 3!!...not too hard to compute

That won't win the Oaks.

Striking horse that was big and range on stride won't suit Epsom. Ideal race course, given easy lead and ground on slow side, meant that it had an easy win of the front with little settled in behind and that stride when asked to quicken meant it had a stone advantage. 2nd and 3rd are better prospects long term. She could run in the ledger, but will be proven to not be top class

Yes, we all would like someone to tell us that a 14/1 shot was obvious BEFORE THE RACE. It was 14/1 for good reason.

no-one's saying it wasn't...but it dropped to 6.0 on here very quickly once it got an uncontested lead...if you can't work out why they've won given the evidence of the race, you've got no chance of picking 14/1 winners before
