Connor Beasley 1-26 in last 14 days Why would you follow him?
Why would you follow any of them? |

David Probert would certainly make my top 5. He is consistently winning races by narrow margins which is the sign of a good jockey.

Are there any going under the radar, that's we need to know!
Of the ones named, Laura Pearson is the one that stands out, if only cuz she's got a 5lb claim to take advantage of, but she's hardly 'under the radar' any more. Wayne Lordan, the only Irish-based jockey named, it seems he's been getting a few more scraps from the Ballydoyle table of late. He's 8-109 this season, 7%. Just glancing down the "today's jockeys" list, in terms of strike rate: Mark Crehan 22-85 (26%). Callum Rodriguez 22-137 (16%) Rossa Ryan 54-294 (18%) All the wise guys with their A/Es and Whitley Ratings, will be laughing at us ! ![]() |
By:
Of the other apprentices, a rapid improver appears to be Saffie Osborne, and she's only got the one ride today, all the way up to Wetherby to ride in the lucky last at 8.25!
By:
Some of these jocks ride outsiders at a high % so strike rate will be low rate, doesn't mean they don't do a job when given chance. Lordan gets plethora of big priced horses out running their odds, same with Beasley
By:
Then u get Shane Foley - plenty of winners but a high % whom aren't even placed that would be odds on to make the frame in the betting... not a punters friend
By:
No Probert, no Crowley, no Kingscote? Crehan is excellent, Pearson is very average.
By:
absolute max 3 of those have any right to be considered in a top 10 discussion imo tudhope, stott, doyle
the rest are nowhere near |
By:
george is nearer with CR, RR
crehan doing ok small sample |
By:
Martin Harley is top notch

By:
Easy to say when they ride a winner and top 10 aint the right place but if youve got 50 jocks riding the flat, MATHERS has to be in the top 20 and gets next to no rides.
By:
Paddy Mathers currently 40th, however he continues to ride like he just did he may well rise
By:
I could point out 10 dossers above him.
By:
sure you could
By:
James McDonald (AUS), and Irad Ortiz (US), different class to this lot, with Ryan at No.3.
By:
Callum Rodriguez and Jason Hart up north. Dave Probert has also done me few favours lately.

Thank you Top3man for doing this, nice to have own thoughts confirmed.
By:
No mention of Dettori is somewhat surprising, Ben Curtis would be on my top 10 as well.
By:
I like Kevin Stott, horses run for him and he is young and keen unlike some jocks.
