Having backed the winner of the void race at D.P. I will say farewell , its hard enough to back a winner without having it taken away . I am not backing anymore on here, if you can't win when you place a bet only to watch it win easily and to find out the race is void when its over half way run surely its time to stop punting on here . I shall wait till i can go racing and punt with cash on course...

Backed the winner at D. P . Jimnast, and was watching it for over half way then up popped the not in play , couldn't believe it. Not the way to go, it means they can just void anything they like now , no security that your bet on any race is now safe . Shambolic as far as I can see , surely question mark about EVERY bet you place now , you don't know if you'll even get paid , in mine and many others we didn't...

well if after and not put in play, you know the rules. You might have got matched with money that should've been cancelled at the off. Obv betfair behaving shockingly in not carrying out routine tasks, but the rules are clear.

The thing is Dave a fair part of the race had been run before they decided to void it, so that means they can do that anytime they feel like it in future..

they void in play bets every time a race isn't put in play at the off, so they can't do what they like.

u'l pal. Your right the game is hard enough as it is. I always keep an eye on the market, if it looks like they ballsed up the in play i just don't bother having a bet.

I thought they missed the off so R&R 1.4 applies? "If a market is scheduled to be turned in-play but Betfair does not, at the official time of the “off”, either (i) turn such market in-play or (ii) suspend the market and cancel unmatched bets, all bets matched after the official time of the “off” will be void." |

Understand your frustration but if they didnt take this step the markets would be thinner than they already are as everyone would have to manaually sit down.

until this place is properly regulated the owners will continue to run amok. you'd have to be highly suspicious of a lot of things that are going on here. |

One of the issues that annoys me is if you a keep lay bets in the place markets pre-race (my bets are normally in place market) they can disappear after a non-runner. Can't see them any where (market, unmatched bets), can't cancel even if you choose cancel all, but they can reappear when in-running when they are partially or completely matched.
If you have several hours to spare, try explaining that to Betfair CS via Twitter. |

Brian, I back in the win market, and often my bets disappear after a non runner when using my desktop, but I find I can cancel (but not amend) them using the Android app on my phone. If you have the BF app and you need to cancel bets, this may be worth a try.

Thanks Undertaker, I shall try to remember that next time (I've stopped using the keep strategy at he moment but may go back to it and try that).
But isn't that underlining the sad joke that Betfair has become. Someone is going to lose a lot of money one day because of Betfair software issues. |

Jumping, that's another problem they just don't seem to care , no effort to inform us exactly whats going on, a marked dropping of standards...

Its in their t's & c's though, if that scenario happens that is how they deal with it.
You can argue that what they do, isn't right and I sympathise with those caught on the wrong end of it but it is clear in their rules. |

A similar thing happened to me and it just isn't fair that we have to pay for their incompetence. How a punter can operate "responsibly" when they're not sure if their bet has been placed or not, is beyond me. I have had 4 instances so far this year that have cost me money and I am sick of it! 20 years supporting their business and they couldn't care less...so disappointed how this company has turned out!
