Christ that is awful news - he was just about the most exciting northern trained novice chase prospect for next season. I just wonder how close they came to withdrawing him and Marown, himself a fine prospect for the valuable staying handicap chases next season. The yard are generally ultra careful about running horses in unsuitable conditions and you just wondered whether they considered it had dried out too much. I guess in these circumstances Trevor Hemmings racing manager Michael Meagher would have the final say.
