Will be all the personal injury cases looming in the future when they realise having a giant box strapped to your back likely causes spinal damage.

Speaking as someone who uses Deliveroo seven days a week, I still don't really understand the economics of it, especially from the riders' point of view. Maybe everyone else tips more generously than I do.

But on OP's point, I very rarely get a cyclist, maybe one in 50 times, it is normally a scooter or car.

Deliveroo are fubked once they have to start paying minimum wage etc to "self employed" riders. Uber drivers winning their case has basically ended that type of employee.

I'm sure they are happy to screw over their "employees" and also the end user (the customer) - but I thought their business model was based on screwing over the food provider.

I don't know but get the impression a fair few Uber/Deliveroo employees are moonlighting for whoever sends a job first.

Let's hope they go a lot lower, cheating riders who they say are not employees, the government should hang their heads in shame, and the courier company's

are even worse riders using own bike insurance and petrol.

Ramruna - you have identified a possible gap in the market there imo - people that want to go somewhere and also want to eat a pizza on their journey.

Dragons Den for you imo.

I fear for your Health - Ramruma ...

Having such 'food' delivered to you -"seven days a week"  Cry

Unless, of course - you are housebound - then commiserations ...

- otherwise - Get walking ...

Unless, of course - You live on some remote Scottish island... and there is nowhere to shop.

Then again - I doubt Deliveroo would be obliging you, anyway, in that case. Happy

@onlooker -- voluntarily housebound like a lot of virus-dodgers.

And that's another concern -- surely demand will drop once Boris gives us the all clear.

Seems to be the recurring theme with the World Wide Web - copy a product/service that already exists (but pretend that your offering is new or different) - provide it more cheaply by screwing over your employees (or pretending they aren't your employees), float it on the stock exchange at 30+ times the true value - jobs a good un!

lost half a billion whilst people are imprisoned, andwe,re led to believe that 50 million people are gagging to get out of the house ,eat out, walk to chippie/takeaway etc and supposedly sharp uptick in unemployment and recession coming, courts clamping down on gigg economy

George Osborne created 1,000,000 new jobs.

Six of them were for him, six were for "Call me Dave" and the other 999,988 were pizza/parcel delivery drivers Laugh

Besides he made his money in some stocks long before he went heavy in blue chip neither which deliveroo would apply to.

But then I imagine you’ve read his book and already know that

Lidl microwavable rice  - 35p
Half a deck of mushrooms - 50p
Half an onion - 10p
Powdered curry sauce - 10p
