Had he went to Mullins he probably would have had one win in a bumper and started under 2/1 for champion bumper. Would be probably under 2/1 for a Nov hurdle back there next March.
Instead he's currently evens at Newbury nearly two weeks after Cheltenham.
That's the difference.

Hard to gauge what 1/2 million bucks gets you unless you're J.P.If it gets beat it will no doubt be judged to be, 'better when it jumps an obstacle'https://www.facebook.com/Cheltmental/videos/%EF%B8%8F-douvans-brother-jonbon-im-sure-you-saw-the-name-

It clocked the fastest time of the day on the bit, winning by 15l, extraordinary for a horse having its 1st outing, and the rating it was given was a record for a 4yr old. Regardless of what it beat, the clock backs up how good a performance it was..

a brother to douvan and prominent in betting for the supreme /ballymore , the horse he beat has run respectably without winning since , that said this looks a weak field the nicholls horse form has suggested he beat trees and come on george seems to have beaten boats . 4/5 jonbon seems too good to be true and ya know what they say if it seems too good to be true and all that .no bet in race for me good luck to those that do.

yes gazo it may seem crazy to the average joe but when you have money like the top owners its probably equivilent to me or you buying a pair of shoes ,jonbon should win he could hardly have been found an easier bumper to start but being a brother to douvan dont guarantee that he is going to be as good or half as good ,look at the same connections `flinter sacres big brother paid a lot of dough for that and not set the world alight yet ,could still do ! what it does ensure is that with those conections 9/times outta ten he will be overbet . that said hope he pishes up today !

It ran 20secs quicker than the "open " (experienced horses) carrying 5lb less on the bit. If henderson has it ready, I can't see petrossian beating it giving it 4lb.

Couldn't you open the You Tube link ? Jambons' full P2P race is on there, the video is over 6 mins.
Nothing has come out of the race to frank the form and half the field didn't finish. Paul Holden couldn't sell it quick enough after winning (hardly surprising looking at the numbers) but if JP is prepared to pay £570,000 good luck to him, it's pocket money anyway. A half brother to Douvan is always going to create interest and he could sluice up, but do you really want to be backing it at odds-on, irrespective of how well it won an egg and spoon P2P race.
Good luck.

you are going to be backing at horse at odds on and you know they dont really care too much if it wins, could be miles classier than these but you know it really is just out for a run at this stage of the season

I suppose the title of the thread covers all bases. The market at the moment isn't shouting 'special', but chances are he won't need to be that good to win today.
Already a thread but hey ho let's start another one.https://community.betfair.com/horse_racing/go/thread/view/94102/31697655/jonbon-545-newbury-satI suppose the title of the thread covers all bases. The market at the moment isn't shouting 'special',
It’s clearly been recommended by Derek to McManus , and Derek’s record in this field isn’t good . In fact you wouldn’t send Derek to the shop for a bottle of milk . I’d say you can safely knock one digit off his price tag to find his real value .

I couldn’t care less whether he wins or not but if you send Baldrick out to buy horses then you don’t expect to get too much success . Where was Derek when the likes of sir gerhard, envoi Allen , bob olinger , them type of horses were for sale ?. You only have to look at McManus point to point purchases , calthor, magic tricks , coqolino, them kind of yaks, to see what’s happening here

Interested to watch to see what McManus has got for his 570k. 2.12 on Betfair making it slightly more interesting from a betting pov, but it's not a penalty kick as some of the other runners look decent enough.

Friend got a horse for 500 quid. Put it in field for few years. Got it to win it's bumper first time out beating a JP fav. Jp sent Charlie swan up to his door to buy it. 175k. Did nothing after

looked a smart performance, those with experience out of the back of the TV.
Runner up ran well too on debut.
Could be anything still, though i bet JP is moe than happy with the price now.

What struck me with JONBON was at the start. It was prancing on the spot and appeared to have an air of superiority over the other horses. De Boinville seemed to know what he had under him all the way through the race and it was all over when he said go.
Very impressive indeed.

In fairness the race fell apart , the nicholls horse drifted like a barge and ran like a goat , the third fav was ridden by Mark grant and will never ever win any kind of a bumper , the fourth in was too free and it was left to a 6yo newcomer trained by Alistair Ralph to chase home Jonbon . Time will tell whether he’s a very good horse or not , but today was no real indication .
