The field sizes for most of the novice/juvenile Championship races at Cheltenham tell you all you need to know. NH racing in the UK is in trouble; there is not just no strength in depth in terms of top-class horses coming through, there is practically nothing at all. The cupboard is virtually bare, Shishkin being the exception.

Lads I know I do be on the windup but I am shocked at the way English trainers have simply not shown up this year , some of them have to ask themselves serious questions about their methods..
