Any of you ever try these ? Was on the site yesterday and one member put up 3960 Lines @10p for Cheltenham - taking the minimum 10% themselves, the remainder of the bet was filled by others. Anyway the selections were basically the first few in the betting in every race. Gets the bet up ( didn't spot how many lines ) but at the most it was probably only £3.20 and most likely less ...... it paid £8.80 to a £1 unit
Today the same member has placed 3456 Lies @10p ..... again doing all fancied selections , and if successful is almost impossible to profit from it ....... why on earth would anyone choose to do this ?? The biggest mus though are those that follow him in and take a %% of the bet. I think yesterday's syndicate had 35 to 40 sharing the permutation.
I can't see how anybody could profit in betting this way.
To be honest if you do p/pots you'd be a fool not to use collosus The dividends are usually much better than the totes Yesterdays dividends were
chelt 8.41 v 5.80 southwell 57.90 v 134 newc 249.96 v 215.40 sedge 76.50 v 65.70
Think there are some people who put syndicates like your example or who just put a lot of selections in a few races then fav in the others with not much thought, think they must do it for the kickback. But these syndicates are easily avoided, you can still pick out your own. The cash outs are good if you get through to the latter legs as well. If you click syndicate and go to the leaderboard you can see the people who are the most successful Captains. I put syndicates up for usually around $20 but put in 50% of the costs yet there might be another 5 or 6 people who join me, so their only putting in $2 or less, I think why bother but I don't know their circumstances
Hope that helps

Yeah , I understand how it all works. It's just the examples that I showed make it impossible for permutations to profit. Today's bet went down on leg 3 with 8 selections in. The dividend paid £35.25 , he would have needed to get that up to over a tenner to break even , impossible when you are backing the short priced ones in 10p units

An accountant mate of my dads used to do these massive combo place pots, funnily enough he would share (that he won) when he had 5x5p lines up when it paid 25k but not otherwise. He would reg collect hundreds but having bet hundreds to get there. God forbid what he would make of these sort of sites had he not died (without a large estate!) I suspect he would find a way for others to pay for his betting!
