that's pathetic. why offer markets that they don't even monitor. stupid rule all round, why not a reduction factor, if that's the rule and you think it may mess your forecast strategy, don't place the bet, voiding's no good for anyone, not least Betfair and their commission.

@swifty - how would you calculate the RFs for an RFC market? I agree it would be better than voiding but the maths do not look simple.

every forecast has a price , a percentage of the market, and there's the reduction factor. I agree it's more complicated with f/cs, including running strategies based on all running, but I still think it would be a better rule, if you don't like the potential RFs or the bet you're left with without a certain runner(s), then don't play.
have they dropped f/cs from most races now? |

They shouldn't be offering markets they can't manage properly.

sparrow was it you who highlighted the f/c markets they left open an hour the races had finished a few weeks back?

By:
Not forecast markets swifty although I have complained about greyhound markets voided after betfair failed to withdraw non runners.

sparrow, someone posted they were open so I stuck a couple of quid on the winning f/c and it got settled, ridiculous, even the layers are bots who haven't a clue of what's going on.

swifty.....They just don't seem to have the staff able to deal with the amount of markets being offered. These days I suppose they are more interested in their bookmaking activities on Sportsbook and Paddy Power.

"every forecast has a price , a percentage of the market, and there's the reduction factor" I guess, if - the market is well-formed so there's an accurate price/percentage per removed runner - no-one gets advance notice and manipulates the prices to the advantage of their own position (which AIUI is why BF use RFs and not the price of the runner at time of withdrawal directly) "have they dropped f/cs from most races now?" Same deal as always as far as I can tell - up to 6 there's a FC market, 7-10 there's an RFC, big fields nothing. |
