THE Irish government are having a debate next week about the millions they pump into irish horse racing, the story goes that the IHRB use it as prize money but nobody really knows exactly where it goes,i am not saying its wasted ,but the irish government want an account of who got what and when they got it.its will finish irish racing if the government pull the plug with their millions that they pump in.

'brassneck', if so bleeding awful. The government cannot be funding prize monies for the Sport of King. Why make those sufficiently comfortable or rich even more comfortable and richer?
Nonsensical.

the government hand over a cheque every year to the tune of 70-80 million quid to the irish horse racing board and never even ask"well guys, where did you spend the 75 million"and if they where to ask that question they would be told "it went on prize money!" but next week a lot of questions will be asked

But the delay meant the punishment was harsher than it needed to be, and so was the crime. The delay increased the disrepute into which Elliot had brought racing. And it increased the collateral damage to the stable: loss of horses, loss of sponsorship and so on.
The basic facts were not denied. The IHRB made things worse by acting at analogue speed in a digital age'. The BHA reacted immediately; the IHRB did not.

Mention of the Coolmore millions (billions) reminds me that it was Mr Magnier who 'persuaded' the honest as the day is long Taoiseach Haughey to exempt stallion fees from all forms of taxation. Somwhow or other the bloodstock industry seems to have got the Irish government over a 'pork barrel'.

The present head honcho actually admitted communication with the government regarding Sheikh Mohammed's position and the plight of the two daughters he kidnapped and imprisoned. This could infringe the honesty and integrity criteria..."whether the applicant has been the subject of any adverse finding by a judge in any civil proceedings" eg Sheikh Mohammed was found to be responsible for a campaign of intimidation against Princess Haya in court.
The previous head honcho just swept this under the carpet with no reference or acknowledgement of its existence. The pathetic Mr Rust!

For not being proactive (pushy) on the "lockdown" when horseracing in Ireland was still taking place behind closed-door. I believe a trainer did suggest or suspect Mr Rust was "virtue-signalling" ie he exacerbated the plight of racing folks by doing nothing proactive eg engaging and promoting the safety of horseracing as an outdoor sport to the government.

There was a horse named Rust Never Sleeps, the BHA missed out with the twa$ named rust,it is all he ever did.Should have swallowed their idiotic "pride" and paid him off a month into his tenure.
The only reason he was retained was a financial one.
