The way he snatched up , one would think he was blocked....as you say , without the head-on were guessing

Dropping in trip too, so wouldn't have thought he was holding on to it for stamina reasons. And with that in mind, there was plenty of time imo to move up before the gaps closed.

Wonder if the stewards will have a look.
