It's reported in the Mail and the Racing Post and easy to find. Jockey is named. Indefensible behaviour, callous and stupid in equal measures.

Seems like it's a regular fun thing to do at that yard. Jock rode Cheltenham festival winner last year.

Every video or photo of misbehaviour is a dagger to the heart of the idea that racehorses are well looked after ... it will always be only a minority who transgress what is considered good taste .. but is it only a few or a significant minority who act completely inappropriately ... in any event its public perception and it does racing no good now or in the longer term

I don't think the video has the same shock value as the photo of Elliott grinning ear to ear astride a dead horse with the caption "New work rider this morning" beside it. In addition, the jockey has not offered a ludicrous backstory by way of mitigation. However there's no question it does further reputational damage to the sport of horse racing.
I'm posting the link (notwithstanding the OP's request not to do so) in order that others reading this thread can form their own judgement. https://twitter.com/coveruphushhush/status/1366678972759687168?s=20 |

Cash: bear in mind I was only going on early reports of the video as news of it emerged this morning. Shocking stuff though as you say.

The dead horse Gordon Elliott was sitting on - Morgan, a 7-year-old - died of a died of a heart aneurysm (Racing Post). The dead horse being sat on by jockey Rob James, was five-year-old mare which had suffered a sudden cardiac arrest (Irish Field). It doesn't seem much of an age for horses to drop dead of heart failure. In human terms that's like a 25 year old. Is this a hereditary thing or over-training, or some other reason ... ??? All this is getting deeply unpleasant.
