...surely if you had any sense and any compassion for horse welfare you would disassociate yourself immediately and send your horses elsewhere ? And that assumes he does not have his licence stripped.

There is no place in racing for someone with that level of intelligence, stupidity and heartlessness.

A moment of madness from Elliot but it's not in the molesting kids League is it?....it wont finish him or anywhere near it.

Guilty enough to issue an apology.

Absolutely maddening. Authorities and owners must and should take action. Utterly unacceptable.

Depends on how much the press/media make of it.

“A moment of madness”

A moment of madness that gives the animal rights activists years, not moments, of material.

The sport will take some hammering for this.

Probably shopped by a disgruntled employee.

Owners cannot stay with him. Would be a bad look for them now. Basically no choice but to move on.

steve doesn't believe he has admitted it. Like I said...

Could they bring a charge of 'bringing the sport into disrepute' against him?

And given the terrible publicity this will bring to the sport, hard to argue that he hasn't?

The news that betfair have dumped him is interesting in as much he was one of their trainers in the now defunct betfair racing club....he certainly trained C of Causes for us ;can't remember if there were any others.
Dropping him would almost certainly have to have been approved by Paddy Power and that sends a powerful message to IHRB

It’s sickening and the most negative story to come out of racing for decades. He’s finished and rightly so.

Rico , I think he admiited his reading/ writing was poor/non-existent. So not an Oxbridge graduate.

@blue heaven -- It’s sickening and the most negative story to come out of racing for decades. He’s finished and rightly so.

Is it though?

Worse than running denervated horses? Riding while pissed? Doping horses?
