Horse had won just ONCE in it's first 25 races - a $4k Maiden as a 5-yr-old in January 2020

Suddenly - goes in again - as a now 6-yr-old - in a $4k Handicap - at 'The Picnics' last Boxng Day - and goes on to complete a Hat-Trick by winning two more Low Prize-Money 'Picnic ' races worth $6k and $4k.

All races ove 1200 metres - 6 furlongs.

Today - Tries it luck racing at a Higher level - for $35,000 Prize-Money ... and WINS ........... at Betfair SP 65.0

Previously beatn out of sight when tried for races worth around $22k

Result for 'blind Form Figure' backers ... Purists left scrathcing their heads ... or wonderintg where they can get their hands on those carrots.

Excuse my ignorance Onlooker, but what is a "picnic horse?"
Assume that as one was on boxing day, that it's like here in that a small low grade meeting on a bank holiday, where ordinary people turn up for a day out and take a picnic, would that be about it?

The 'Picnics' - are the Lowest grade of Australia Racing - Meetings often not even covered by TAB betting - Very minor 'out of the way' smal racecourses.

Horses ridden by Amateur Riders - hence todays Winner carried 67kg (around 10st 7lb) last time - But the more regular (Professional Jockeys) weihjt of (th4e usual) bottom weight of 55kg (around 9st) .... and it was still 6lbs 'out of the handicap' too.

Then you get the lowesrt grade regular Racecoure meetings - 'Country meetings' - mostly mid-week, and minor Saturday meetinhs - The bulk of meetingsw, like here - at Catterick etc

Then higher up are - Provincial Meetings - at tracks nearer to larger conurbations - with some midweek and Friday/weekend meetings - like Haydock etc

The the highest - Metropolitan meetings - at the large City courses like Flemington, Randwick etc - wHere the Top racing takes place - like Sandown, York etc here.

Then h8i
