Another great blog from Kevin this week, highlighting the flaws that are becoming more evident week by week in Irish racing, A must read for anyone with a interest in racing as a whole .
His questioning of the IHRB for its disappearance when it has been needed most , what happened at Navan and Naas was diabolical to say the least, and these highly payed representatives are nowhere to be seen .Surely for the sake of Irish racing and what has happened with the drugged horse at Tramore etc, these highly paid people need to step up to the plate and provide answers .As a avid Irish racegoer I feel nothing but shame and embarrassment at these situations and feel the need for answers to be forthcoming asap..
Fair play to Kevin for taking them to task...

Kevin's blog posts are on the ATR site at

The recent shambolic starts were embarrassing but it is not really clear what the IHRB can do about it.

The lack of CCTV in racecourse stables is far more serious, and not just because it was supposed to be installed two years ago. It will cost (on Blake's figures) E500,000 or less, which is not a big sum and if IHRB really can't afford it, perhaps someone could get out their contacts book and take a begging bowl round to JP, Coolmore or the Irish Government.

He is Pandora I have met him a few times at the races and he always has time for a chat with people. Irish racing is not getting the service it is paying the IHRB huge salaries for. What happened last week was shambolic for Irish racing, yet nobody deemed it bad enough from the IHRB to come forward and address the terrible mess...

Ramruma , the Irish Government provided e37 Million to Irish racing last year alone, back in 2018 the issue of no cctv was supposed to be addressed it obviously wasn't...

@workrider -- yes. But it wasn't so we are where we are.

e500,000 (for cctv) is a single nomination to Galileo.

Workrider,

you are right about Kevin, it was clear from his articulated logic that he could look at racing and see beyond the surface. Be it, odds and value, or the dubious politics.

It was Kevin that, at the risk of upsetting the entire Irish inbred omerta, called out Ruby as an accident waiting to happen every time he mounted a thoroughbred racehorse.
