A decision on whether racing at Plumpton goes ahead has yet to be made with officials continuing to monitor the track due to areas of frost on the hurdles course causing concern.
Two inspections were held in the morning at 8am and 10am with a further inspection planned for midday to allow for conditions to improve, but clerk of the course Mark Cornford was awaiting the arrival of BHA stewards – who were held up on their way to the course by an accident on the M25 before making a final call.
Temperatures had not risen as quickly as anticipated and areas of the hurdles course on the back straight were giving officials particular cause for concern.
Cornford said on Sky Sports Racing: "The temperatures haven’t risen as expected. The frost has been slow to come out of the ground in some areas, particularly the hurdles course on the back straight.
"There is also an area coming round the stables on the hurdles course, an area bigger in size than in the back straight, which we think we can get round by moving the course to the centre.
"If this doesn’t work out I can only apologise to everybody. Having got this close and gone this far, I’m prepared to give it every possible chance. We’ve got our fingers crossed but we are up against it."

Piccadilly you have just confirmed what I said, in fact your are worse than clueless. It never looked like the horse slipped and you stated the course was unsafe and the meeting should be abandoned ! Never been on Twitter so yet another ludicrous remark from somebody who needs to think before they post !

Behave yourself Cufmos. Horse went down very quickly and it did look (to me) like a a slip on first viewing. Plenty of runners pulled out due to concerns about how safe the going is. Blackburn, has the right approach to talking to people online if he feels they're off the mark about something.

What on earth are you going on about, you made a rash post about an incident without bothering to review what happened, you called for the meeting to be called off on the basis of what you thought you saw ! I presumed you where clueless, I apologize if you are that sensitive it offends you but people like you who make knee-jerk reaction posts like yours need calling out. " plenty of runners pulled out due to concerns about the going ", has nothing to do with your original post. You could always apologize for your rash inaccurate post but I doubt if that will be forthcoming because as I said earlier you are clueless !

Hate to keep calling you out for your errors but it is Blackbarn not Blackburn maybe this is all down to your poor eyesight not your stupidity. Have a good day !

Calm down odd bod! You sound really angry. I stand by what I said, the going was unsafe in the first 2 races and a number of trainers pulled their horses out due to worries about frost still being in the ground.

Angry not me ! Odd BOD never been called by that before but will try to not be offended ! In fact you like many of the other idiots on here I find quite amusing, thanks for cheering up my afternoon. If you had criticised the course for not omitting the home straight hurdles in the first race due to the low sun you would have had a point, there was never anything wrong with the going. Most the trainers withdraw their runners because they were on a hiding to nothing running them or the owners made the decision which is their prerogative. I hope this has been educational for you as you are obviously not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Yeah, nothing wrong with the going, yet Hendo Nicholls, Paul Henderson, Drinkwater & Bridgewater pulled theirs out and even Moore pulled his nice one out of the first race. The game has an image and thankfully those trainers and a few others did the right thing to protect it. Imagine the outcry if one had slipped up and brought down other runners in a bigger field if they'd all elected to run.

One last try. After the first 2 races only a further 5 horses were withdrawn because of the going being unsuitable not because it was unsafe . Henderson and Nicholls withdrew their horses because they are high profile and did not want to take the chance with horses with a future ahead of them. Very understandable ! You seem to imply that all the trainers who had runners do not care about the welfare of their horses which seems quite insulting. But never mind I'm sure your opinions will not stop them sleeping tonight. I replied to your first post because it was incorrect and your call for the meeting to be abandoned was foolish but as you have proved your not very bright. Good luck for the future your going to need it.
