Rediculous, where was the sun in previous years, absolutely pathetic, Native River would have won easy if the fences had been in up the straight.

It spoiled a (potentially) great race

never seem to miss em out in France

What gets me is hearing people say that safety is paramount. If that were the case why would they
ask horses to jump over fences in the first place? |

Cost native the race IMVHO

once you start conceding to the PC brigade you are fecked

yes low sun makes it tough to see but see what your boss says when you say sorry low sun this morning won't be in while half 10 as not safe to travel yet

So true wonders, we all need saving.
You give them an inch and it wont be long before they demand horse racing to banned. |
|
By:
They'll be putting a speed limit on next!

Taking jumps out ruins a race generally (it produced a good finish there but you can't take the form seriously), but I do have sympathy for the jockeys. I can't see a thing when driving into the sun and it must be terrible for them too.

farcical.
Didn't they jump about 4 hurdles in a staying race @Taunton in the week? |
|
By:
if they were forced to abandon if more than say 1 was taken out, instead of running without, there wouldnt be as many problems, NAP

changes the dynamics of your bet if you're already on. be like having a bet on the gold cup, then hearing they're running it over a mile & a half b'cos of the sun. you'd be like, ok, can i get my money back.

By:
Should void the race for betting purposes, it's a complete change of race conditions

Correct Tony. Just another example of the total contempt racing authorities have for punters. Same with horses getting loose being allowed to run.
|
|
By:
Could a horse be withdrawn with no penalties as the conditions have changed?
