The representative of the trainer’s explanation that the weight cloth had accidentally slipped off KODIAC PRIDE approximately 1½ furlongs out was accepted, with the Stewards having noted during the race that the lead bag appeared to come adrift from the gelding and video coverage confirming the incident.

Beware tonight.if you look at the video you will see that Kodiac was not a sure thing to hang on with 10.5 until it lost over two stone 300 yds out. Tonight it has to carry the weight full distance so its not that the horse was unlucky last time, it was actually LUCKY to win. Would you lump on a horse that won luckily last time out. ! Been following this horse a while as it is owned by a friend and it needs to lead all the way but does not have a great finishing kick.
