The result will stand because it won by more than a nose. Will carry on till a jockey is killed then they'll have to tighten up.

If anyone is thinking of lumping on Tilsit keeping it, it might be worth keeping in mind the Kevin Blake columns recently - the stewards might decide they are going to draw a line in the sand?

It did look as if Moore was trying to block the passage of Khaloosy and went a bit too far nearly putting the second over the rails.

Jockey has whip in correct hand, horse stills veers further over and jockey then yanks the horse off the 2nd and even sacrifices forward momentum to look back to check what's happened, what more could he have done. There's an anti Moore factor involved in the criticism of the ride I think.

Only things the Stewards throw out in this Country are Ashtray Contents and and empty bottles

I suppose you could say that in a normal race, as the winner went past the 2nd in the final furlong you'd be tripping over yourself to get 1/8 on it, and with a little shaved off for the stewards that's what you were getting for a winner.

No dangerous riding but would have lost the race in Australia or the US. (nap)

The rules in this country are a disgrace. U can get away with anything and still keep the race.

Imagine a football match where its okay for the 'best' team to foul as much as they want on their way to victory without reprisal because they are the best team anyhow. That's what UK racing is now.

It's just a nonsense to say you can keep the race no matter what you do so long as you're on the best horse and it wins by more than a head.

You might well have a point as the bar for dangerous riding is set too high.  But under the rules this was never dangerous riding.

Remember the benchmark for what is and isn't dangerous riding was set a few years ago when Spencer looked at the tv screen and deliberately sent his horse into the path of ,ironically, Moore's mount.

The problem with the current rules (IMO) is that they put the onus on the loser to prove he'd have won, instead of putting it on the winner to prove he wouldn't.

In other words, my understanding of the rules is in a situation like this the stewards won't overturn unless they deem the runner-up certain to have one.

It might be fairer if the result is reversed unless it's deemed certain the runner-up could NOT possibly have won.  That at least incentivizes jockeys not to cause interference.

(Although you'd have to be foolish to think that happens anything but rarely and certainly not here).
