Sam James failed to weigh in from 3rd place in the 7.10.   My good fortune as I now win a losing match bet.  How amateurish behaviour is it by the Jock

The Clerk of the Scales objected to ROYAL BORN (IRE), placed third, ridden by Sam James on the grounds of the rider failing to weigh in. ROYAL BORN (IRE) was disqualified and the placings revised as follows: Third – IVORS INVOLVEMENT (IRE), Fourth - AMOURIE. After being interviewed, the rider was suspended for 7 days and was not entitled to a riding fee.

You have to be suspicious when they manage to forget the obvious.

That would make little difference - sparrow ... with the Minimum Raring that any horse can run Off being 45.

Div 1 - would have been Weighted ...

Top-weight 50 - then a 47 - 46 - with the other 7 on 45.

Div 2 .....

Top-weight - 4 of them on  48 - then a 47 - 46 - and the other 4 on 45.

I agree onlooker but you did mention banded which allowed much lower levels although of course they not handicaps either.
Ideally 35/50 rather than 45/50 for a Class 7.

Betfair still currently settling my matchbet buzzlightyear v Royal Born as a loser.  The chat tells me mine was placed 6 so a loser.   Aye right 6th beats 10th/last/disqualified. Very poor customer service albeit a lucky win.  Currently "checking again"

3 year old handicaps are worse than any other type of race. Plain

To end on a more positive note.

The  last race Winner - Lord Warburton - is well-named  as ...

Lord Warburton is a character in the book - Portrait of a Lady.

Portrait Of A Lady  - is the Dam of Lord Warburton.

Looks like a whole card of banded races at Brighton tomorrow (OK, some are low level hcs). Doc Sportello and Boom The Groom will feel ashamed turning up with that rabble.

Excellent news and the owners will enjoy watching their horses run.

I don't have a problem accomodating lower grade horses but not a whole card and certainly not in the middle of the flat season. Brighton are getting away with staging a meeting on the (very) cheap.
