Jamie might want to find a better apprentice if he wants to land the stable gambles.

Done so well not to win on that.

did well to get to front then simply thought she could coast home, not a lover of the whip but dear me she will have to ride stronger than that

Of course if it was a foreign jockey Chapman would criticise. But he'll go outve his way as I'm sure Osborne is another of his twitter buddies.

I've been following her mounts, and she really is very poor. Seems quite scared and timid. Maybe she will improve, she's going to need to, a lot.

Tells it as it is, they say.  Unfortunately for him the race was not at Keeneland.

Personally i couldn't criticise any apprentice having their fifth lifetime ride....

Anyway she is only 7lb claimer and hopefully will learn and improve.

ffs, she's only had 4 rides before that, I'sure Frankie had 4 winners from his first 4 rides, personally I thought she was very good, surefire super star for the future. just think she was passing all the horses very easily, she thought she had done enough, her day will come. cheers.

Does she never ride horses at the gallops at home?  Was it only her 5th time on a horse?

How many races to you need to race in before you grasp you ride the horse to the line, 30...40....50?

race riding's completely different from the
gallops.Only had a handfull of rides,give the
girl a chance.Hollie Doyle was'nt too clever
up until the last year or so.

they just need a rule that apprentice's should have to have at least 10 rides in apprentice only races. help earn their craft

Inexperience cost the silly girl. When she flew past all the strugglers on the inside, she figured she only had to pass those in front. Once she's not petrified of falling off, she can have a glance over her shoulder to see if any of the "beaten" strugglers have found a 2nd wind..

James..i'd like to see her have around 20 rides first....and then i'll form an opinion of her abilities

I used to be friends who became an apprentice years ago and the excited frenzy he used to get himself into  on his early rides certainly opened my eyes...for some it's a lifetimes ambition to be a jockey and we can only imagine what they're experiencing so they get an early pass from me.

Just my opinion..

I looked her up after Muraahin got beat. Not a jockey knocker but I really was wondering how - parentage aside - she was deemed capable of riding under rules.

dropped her hands on murahin when it would have won, should have won on crime of passion.how long will owners let nepotism keep costing them

Wasn't she a junior eventing champion?

Obviously needs to work on her race riding fitness, cuz as saddo points out, she seemed to get tired on Muraahin the other night.

But agree with grayhawk, although some 7lb claimers can come along and look absolute naturals, the 7lb allowance is there to allow for inexperience / weakness.

That's what pony racing is for.

John Francome was a junior showjumping champion. Mind you, some used to complain Francome was weak in a finish too.

I'd be more worried about her apparent lack of fitness and stamina if @GEORGE.B is right.

Looked night and day with the stick in her hands from her early mounts when winning the 5:15 James....

Now had thirty five mounts on mostly no hopers and looks as if she has a chance for me...seems to get horses to travel

I think she's a pretty good horsewoman so has the basics.  Can't serious;y back her ever though, for whatever reason.  Have always thought she was in it to gain experience with an eye very much on a future training career - or any other career linked to the horses.

I can think of a few jockeys without claims who need to be 20lbs well in.

Yep Penzance ..but once they've had plenty of rides you can tell they're never gonna make it as a fully fledged jockey that's even if they ever ride out their claim.....

Rhian Ingram,Grace Mcentee and Poppy Bridgewater are three daughters of trainers who'll never make it as fully fledged jockeys.

Lovely girl, but will she ever make a professional jockey? From what I've seen she is well below par compared to other apprentices. She needs to be told before she gets injured.
