Wont be Winning lay till the cows come home.....I know I am jumping the gun and should be talking about The Derby and The Oaks but this sticks out like a sore thumb.
Yes I see where you're coming from. She may win tomorrow or may not, but with just two defeats in 15 career starts, last time out when embarrassing herself by having the temerity to be 'only' runner up in one of the finest Arcs for years. Yeah, she took a right hiding.
Idiot.

She's up there with Treve and Zarkava as one of the best middle distance fillies/mares in recent history. 13 wins on 12 different courses at distances between 8f-12f and a dual Arc winner. With better luck she could have created history last October with a 3rd and may well do again this year.
I like Ghaiyyath and thought he was the danger to Enable in the Arc last year (beaten easily). He looked good LTO but he beat an ordinary Derby winner and a stayer who were both having a first run of the season on a track that was favouring those up with the pace.
Enable is rated 2 lb higher and receives 3lb, runs well fresh, won the race last year and is clearly the form horse. I certainly wouldn't be a layer and expect her to win.
The headline doesn't do the mare justice. She's up there with Treve and Zarkava as one of the best middle distance fillies/mares in recent history. 13 wins on 12 different courses at distances between 8f-12f and a dual Arc winner. With better luck she
Ghaiyyath hasn't been punted on the back of his defeat of AVD, although I believe that back on fast ground AVD will frank the form of the Coronation Cup anyway. Ghaiyyath put up some extraordinary sectionals that day, world beating by all accounts and if he reproduces that run at Sandown and it seems that the stable thinks he will, I can't see anything beating him.

At last years Arc there was a group of English fellas wearing proper suits made up in the colours of Enable already celebrating the result an hour early.
Being a nosy sod I couldn’t help asking one of them what they fancied for the big one.
They must be gutted they can’t be at Epsom this Sunday in all their finery to retrieve their French losses.

I think the withdrawal of her stablemate Lord North was very significant as he'd be the main nemesis to Enable for me; Ghaiyyath is a good horse...the class of Enable? Unlikely, I think.

I'm not as massive fan of Enable as others are. Her performances after the 3 yo campaign when she got all the allowances have been good without being 'alltime' great stuff, imo But if she's odds against on sunday I will be on She is better than these and a stiff 10 furlongs is her best distance, imo Good luck

I would be surprised if a fit Enabled could not pick off Ghaiyyath at the end of the race. Ghaiyyath might need more time between races albeit based on only two sub-par performances.
Racing Post ran a news item yesterday "Gosden warns Enabled may need comeback run", but said item is nowhere to be seen now. Any concerns about that?

I think Gosden always errs on the side of caution and never counts his chickens before they hatch. I fear Japan more than Ghaiyyath after the former looked like a Michelin Man on debut this season. But, with the disruption of Covid prudence is the name of the game - it's a long season.

Everyone (including me) expects Ghaiyyath to make the running, but Magic Wand is probably in the field to unsettle him so he may not get the easy lead he had at Newmarket, even though it's his normal style of running. The going may be on the soft side as well.
I maintain Ghaiyyath is decent and i actually like the horse (i put him up here LTO) but i can see Frankie tracking the pace, joining in after the 2f pole, taking the lead shortly after and winning a little cosily.
I think the first 3 will finish in SP order.
I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see Enable again until Autumn (after Sunday).

Its all about the Arc for Enable no way will she be punished, on the other hand Japan and Ghaiyyath are both ready to run for there lives it really is that simple.

Well its been a while since i have been on here Gents , she wont even make the frame i rest my case . Now go fill your Boots now and back English King for the Derby .

She might need the run and will NOT be knocked about, has not been hard trained for this race i.e a prep. That is what molerat has said but also stated she is very well and going great guns. For me no bet,no lay and no win.If pushed though would be 80% your side.

You have to play with what is given Acey and imo you are spot on win or lose,I gained double backing Walde in the Arc to what I lost on her for 1/10th the stake but nobody seemed to have noticed.Do your own thing mate and more power to you for sharing your opinion.
Speaking of Power as an aside,I need Thai Power for a decent sized treble next at Wolves.

I'm tired of good horses turning up not fit to do themselves justice or totally fat like Japan and Mogul; Enable was 85% fit...in a prestigious Gp1? Is someone taking the mick?
Next season no antepost for seasoned star/s on their 1st outing.

Well done 'acey'. I think it's fair to say the majority of the journalists at the Racing Post are not reporting for punters but their paymasters ie bookies. The good ones have mostly left.

Like I said before I am Enables biggest Fan but like the song says.....You gotta know when to hold 'em know when to fold 'em know when to walk away and know when to run.

acey deucy 05 Jul 20 16:22 Impossible you cannot get Horses 100% fit at home why do you not understand that?
walofs..now you've just embarrassed yourself.

If I'm not wrong Cecil managed to esp the prestigious races. And, I still think not getting a horse ready for The Eclipse (or sufficiently fit to win against probable main protagonists) is unacceptable.

The travellers run their on tarmac regularly (I've witnessed it). Anyway, it's done and dusted.
It's the Musidora and Dante next thursday at York; Franconia (11/8) and Highest Ground (13/8) respectively.

I thought Chamberlain was going to soil himself in his excitement before the race but, just as always, she ran a decent race but is not a champion. Without the mares’ allowance she’d be a triple-placed Arc runner, not a two-times winner. No sex allowances, no WFA in Group 1s.

Will she win another GP1 esp if Love is in the field? I understand she was only 85% fit but the proximity of Japan would not inspire confidence for her backers in the future; only 6/4 for the King George.

I think if she bombs or labours to a win in the King George she'll be retired and become a broodmare otherwise she'd be eaten for breakfast in The ARC by Love and the AOB battalion.
