If ever there was a case of " pi$$ing in the wind " it must be that of trying to sell the RP, No betting shops,
Limited if any Racing, people still afraid to go to shops, Vastly Overpriced. !! |

I've said it a million times. Just offer the racecards, form and results for a quid, and I'd buy the paper every day for the sheer convenience of it. With the revenue from the bookies' adverts on top, it would surely be a profitable business.
But there's no way I'm paying whatever they're charging now for all that other padding. I simply have no time to read it. If they saved it all for the Weekender once a week, I might even resume buying that too. |

Can't see people paying £4.95 a copy, if thats true

For everyone who just wants the cards and form, there will be someone else saying they can get the cards online and would prefer the paper to just have news and analysis.
Though come to think of it, isn't just the cards and form sold as the RP betting shop edition? |

RP today " Royal Ascot due to take place on June 16 and will be the first major meeting staged in Britain since the lockdown began."
Funny but i've always considered the three day guineas meeting at Newmarket to be a major meeting. Have you ? |

just think its comforting news, irrespective whether buy it or not ( personally just buy it on saturdays and big meetings ) its another step back to normality.

Strange that the Racing Post appear to have taken the decision that racing is returning. As far as I was aware it was the government who take those decisions.
Quite embarrassing for all concerned if it doesn't restart on June 1st. |

Good to see the bible is going back into print.
People knock the RP but you only have to compare it to the overpriced rubbish that US punters have to rely on. You can then fully appreciate our racing paper and the layout of the form. |
