Sturgeon urges people to stay at home over Easter After paying tribute to emergency workers who are dealing with the crisis, the first minister again urges people to stay at home over the Easter weekend.
She acknowledges that this will be difficult for everyone as Easter is normally a time to see friends and to get out and about, but she warns: "None of that will be possible".
“We cannot allow ourselves to become complacent against this virus and end these measures prematurely," Ms Sturgeon adds. "If we do that, we risk undoing all of the work we have put in so far and we would risk seeing the virus spread out of control, potentially very quickly.”

Scotland's coronavirus lockdown is likely to continue "for some weeks to come", Nicola Sturgeon has said.
The first minister said there was "no prospect" of the measures being lifted in the coming days.
She said it was important not to lift restrictions "prematurely", in a way which could see the virus spread "out of control" and overwhelm the NHS.
A further 81 people in Scotland have died after contracting Covid-19, bringing the latest total to 447.
Ms Sturgeon said 4,957 people had now tested positive for the virus, up from 4,565 on Wednesday, but stressed these figures would be an under-estimate.
She also said there are 1,781 patients in Scotland's hospitals with Covid-19, 212 of whom are in intensive care.

Thanks for your theory Hello. I'm well acquainted with the official narrative. It's been drummed into you/population from early on. What is it that Sturgeon said that merited a thread? Stay in and...............

With regards emerging from lockdown (we want this I assume)
What type of cases/death figures would fill the criteria for you to feel safe enough to go back to work etc?
And who would you trust enough to give the all-clear?

i do know they may realise initial action was a little slow and preparation was not what we were told 70 odd days ago so scrutiny suggests severe damage limitation
added to fact there is a theory that only a very small %age of population have come in contact with virus in most populations
i would say we are in some kind of lockdown till either vaccine or mass community testing becomes available

It is absolutely inhuman that people are dying in hospital without their loved ones being able to be with them.
This is either a massive over reaction or the Govnt knows more about this Chinese Communist Party engineered biological weapon than they are telling us.
Which is it?

if isleham and fire and ice ran the country the lockdown would be eased today and country back to normal...millions would prob get infected, probably hundreds of thousands die... nhs unable to cope and most would probably die in their own homes. but at least some have gotten back to work.

‘Going outdoors is what stops every respiratory disease’
A veteran scholar of epidemiology has warned that the ongoing lockdowns throughout the United States and the rest of the world are almost certainly just prolonging the coronavirus outbreak rather than doing anything to truly mitigate it.
Knut Wittkowski, previously the longtime head of the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Research Design at the Rockefeller University in New York City, said in an interview with the Press and the Public Project that the coronavirus could be “exterminated” if we permitted most people to lead normal lives and sheltered the most vulnerable parts of society until the danger had passed.
“[W]hat people are trying to do is flatten the curve. I don’t really know why. But, what happens is if you flatten the curve, you also prolong, to widen it, and it takes more time. And I don’t see a good reason for a respiratory disease to stay in the population longer than necessary,” he said.
“With all respiratory diseases, the only thing that stops the disease is herd immunity. About 80% of the people need to have had contact with the virus, and the majority of them won’t even have recognized that they were infected, or they had very, very mild symptoms, especially if they are children. So, it’s very important to keep the schools open and kids mingling to spread the virus to get herd immunity as fast as possible, and then the elderly people, who should be separated, and the nursing homes should be closed during that time, can come back and meet their children and grandchildren after about 4 weeks when the virus has been exterminated,” he added.
Wittkowski argued that the standard cycle of respiratory diseases is a two-week outbreak, including a peak, after which “it’s gone.” He pointed out that even in a regime of “social distancing,” the virus will still find ways to spread, just more slowly:
You cannot stop the spread of a respiratory disease within a family, and you cannot stop it from spreading with neighbors, with people who are delivering, who are physicians—anybody. People are social, and even in times of social distancing, they have contacts, and any of those contacts could spread the disease. It will go slowly, and so it will not build up herd immunity, but it will happen. And it will go on forever unless we let it go.
Asked about Anthony Fauci, the White House medical expert who for weeks has been predicting significant numbers of COVID-19 deaths in America as well as major ongoing disruptions to daily life possibly for years, Wittkowski replied: “Well, I’m not paid by the government, so I’m entitled to actually do science.”
Willy, I'll listen to qualified people like Knut and you follow Chris Whitty who couldn't even keep himself safe!

What wee Nicola needs to address is how an Independent Scotland would have financed the NHS, business payments, furlough payments, mortgage holidays, tax breaks for self employed, etc, etc etc. It's now clear the E U would be able to provide any financial support so what would be the fate of the Scottish Nation ? Trying to be different in a time of crisis is not whats needed........an example In UK all the new emergency "pop-up" hospitals are called Nightingale except in Scotland where wee Nicola opted for NHS Louisa Jordan.........total nonsense.

You would think so, but nothing being asked ! In interviews no one asks her about this.........she also get's a pass on the Care Workers concern about the quality of the PPE, the fact she is on record saying that the need for more testing is a fallacy, also the government are still trying to work out how to count the deaths................she can talk, talk and talk give all guidance that she can dream up, but the front line care workers including 120 consultants, doctors, nurses etc who signed an open letter last week deserve more that her promises.............some action would be good. It's just not good enough................

Nicola announced today at her daily 12:30 press conference that Care Homes have accounted for 25% of Covid deaths in Scotland. I'm sure everyone was relieved when she said that the government had previously issued "GUIDANCE".......no priority, just guidance. The lack of focus on care homes is a disgrace.......and as the residents are invariably old with underlying medical conditions putting them in the Number 1 target group plans should have been made from Day 1. It is over 100 days since the first death in Europe and the government in Scotland has only issued guidance......If Nicola would stop talking, stop showboating at her daily press conference and concentrate on actually doing something.....lives could have been saved !
