There are none
Just some Lists of Classic Races and Big-Race Winners on various sites - But nothing detailing the vast majority of races. Anything in particular you are searching for - that some of us could provide from Form Books/publications at that time. |

Onlooker..if you ever find the time could you check on this horse for me from the first time i ever went to the races in 1978
Horse called Tremellick ( think it was trained by Maurice Camacho - i know it later went on to be the dam of Avro Anson which was a Camacho trained horse ).....was beaten at Ripon by a horse called Superb Lady which i remember as being trained by Ken Ivory and ridden by Kevin Leason in a two year old race ....i think it was Tremellicks debut and it made up a tremendous amount of ground to force a photo with Superb lady which i think was the favourite...i'm looking for starting prices and any in running comments .....and also another race where it went on to win a three year old handicap at the following years Lincoln meeting which was won by Fair Season....thinking it was 25-1 SP I know there's no form on the Racing Post site but they have both Tremellick and Superb Lady as being foaled in 1970 which would mean i'm wrong altogether... |

Hi grayhawk
You are CORRECT re: the years - The Form Book only show TREMELLICK racing as a 2-yr-old in 1978 and the following year. She did make her debut at Ripon - and was beaten a length by Superb Lady - Trained as you say by Ken Ivory - But ridden by Michael Wigham, at 14/1 TREMELLICK - was beaten a length, at 20/1 'wormanlike, scope, always prominent, ran on final furlong, not reach winner' WON her next 2 races - the latter at Ripon Owner - B Skirton - Bred by T G 'Terry' Warner - and Trained, as you say, by Maurice Camacho at Tadcaster -------------- As a 3-yr-old - she was again beaten by Superb Lady at Ripon - 3rd beaten a length and 3 lengths, 15 ran - having WON the race before Fair Season's Lincoln - the Batthyany Handicap - at Doncaster. She was ridden mostly by Apprentice Gary? Gosney - But was ridden by Ernie Johnson at Doncaster - carrying 7st 12lb 'sweating, close up, led 1 furlong out, ran on well' Won by 2 and a half lengths from - Go Total - 15 ran - and 25/1, as you remember. -------------- Now I am going back to trying to sort out my loft - an enormous task - that would never have got done, but for there being no racing. I will probably find several more Racing Calendars from the 1800s ![]() |

Thanks very much Onlooker brilliant work......How the memory plays tricks ....could have sworn it made up around six lengths in final furlong to force a photo...and also Ridden by Leason - must have been swayed by him usually riding for Ivory First time at the races...an entry into another world ![]() |
