Hopefully they can still race by then
Report Pilsudski March 22, 2020 8:54 AM GMT
Absolutely hate to be negative, but surely it’s only a matter of time before a jockey gets sick ? You only have to look at their proximity to one another at the start of races.
Report koikeeper March 22, 2020 10:12 AM GMT
Not belong before its shut down completely
Report betting_masta March 22, 2020 10:19 AM GMT
the fact that you can carry the virus without having any symptoms shows that it's not as dangerous a virus as people are making it out to be. jockeys are fit people and probably in the least susceptible group of people. it's a virus killing mainly old people. press and governments have over-reacted to it. it will all be over within a month. they almost have a vaccine which defeats it

Bon Jovi keyboardist David Bryan has revealed he has tested positive for coronavirus.

According to a post from the Tony Award-winning musician’s Instagram account, he has “been sick for a week” but says that he is “feeling better each day”.

He did not say whether he knew how he had contracted the virus, but has been in self-isolation for a week
.

“I just got my results back today and tested positive for coronavirus,” he wrote. “I’ve been sick for a week and feeling better each day. Please don’t be afraid!!! It’s the flu not the plague.”

Betting masta, watch the coverage from Italy if you don't think its dangerous.
Effecting more younger people by the day.
Report betting_masta March 22, 2020 10:40 AM GMT
how many young people have died? just because you catch something doesn't mean it's going to kill you

^^this is true. government and media has overreacted because a) the media loves to do it and have something to talk about. b) governments do not want to be held liable for the deaths of people. we have all been lied to about the severity of this virus. the death rate is not as high as is being reported. look outside, the sun is still shining, birds are still flying. a month from now we won't be talking about this anymore

I would think, if racing can continue in Ireland, that an awful lot of 2 year olds, particularly those that were earmarked for the breeze up sales, will be moved from the UK to Irish stables in the coming weeks.
Report koikeeper March 22, 2020 12:24 PM GMT
Tangle, I can tell you now, there will be no on course betting support for it.
But there could be support  for it just the same Wink
Report isleham March 22, 2020 1:01 PM GMT
ireland will be shut down at some point but as they were days or weeks behind us they were right to varry on as long as possible for everyone involved.
i would imagine Koi is a pensioner and thus his economic life will be unaffected..alright for some
Report knot in wood March 22, 2020 1:11 PM GMT
i'm not sure if it's the right thing to do, but you cannot fault the irish turf club for at least trying to keep racing going.

our lot at the BHA just seemed to throw the towel in before the fight started.
Report koikeeper March 22, 2020 1:13 PM GMT
Isleham, why would you think that?
Report isleham March 22, 2020 1:15 PM GMT
