In the City of London a professional stock picker/analyst/tipster eg Mr Wray the owner of Saracens Rugby Club one thing that distinguishes the betting man in the City to the horse racing professional tipsters is the former usually gets it right unlike the latter. The filthy newspaper has yet to report on the despicable and unprofessional behaviour of Bet*** the sponsor of the Champion Chase which today was fined a record £11.6m for being inadequate in their dealings with 7 customers (some were depositing stolen monies and/or displaying clear signs of gambling addiction), failing to fulfil its obligations to prevent both money laundering and problem gambling. |

Since shares usually go up, a monkey throwing darts at the Financial Times would do better than most racing tipsters and probably better than most City men as well, certainly after commission. as i posted on the ts friday thread, he had 4 winners from 23 selections and no winners from 19 selections ante-post.
a total of 4/42, does not warrant a well done tom. you must be skint following ts at cheltenham, unless of course you just did a veritas and backed the 4 winners.  |

On the RP podcast he was so confident on a few he was bordering on manical, springfield fox and copperhead !
His selection logic wasn't as informative as Kealys and to rub salt in his wounds he went against Min (pocket talk) who he had tipped for previous festivals. He needs to re-access his selection criteria as watching the podcast I couldn't see anything going to lead to a revival ! |

TS aka the stopped clock is still a legend in the Segal household. Every time he tips a horse I’ve independently selected a little piece of me dies inside.
I think it’s extraordinary that he still has such a loyal/blind following and even though I’m not one of them, Ashleigh provides an invaluable and unselfish service to those users of this forum that do and he should be applauded not criticised for doing so. |

If these tipsters were good the bookies would not be feeding them - they'd be stopping/restricting them. As such, an inference they'd be tipping on behalf of their paymasters ie the bookies (punter's enemies) is logical, and probably accurate.
Prudent to ignore presenters/journos; if good would they still be doing their day job? |

If Tom is so poor, who is decent? David Jennings had a good festival. He was pretty sweet on Aramax, Ferny hollow, Min, Champ, and Epatante. Had near misses with the storyteller & hold the note. He also tipped a few fallers, ridersonthestorm who was travelling OK before falling , as well being very sweet on the unfortunate freak goshen and the disappointing itchy feet. For a €2 stake he showed a profit of €18, representing 7 winners from 25, or 28% hit rate. I have been tracking him throughout the season as well and he is consistently hitting around these figures.

I'd Samcro, Faugheen, Epatante, Champ, Santini, Lostintranslation, ABP/Delta Work (as savers) - all antepost; Goshen/Latest Exhibition (on the day/small stake); Paisley Park, Tiger Roll and Benie (in antepost doubles and accas). The rest I abstained.
On the above I still showed a profit with a bit of luck from Samcro; careful risk management eg laying some off Paisley Park/Tiger Roll/Benie; Samcro/Faugheen/Santini/Lostintranslation - the last in-running - given big antepost prices. Do I call myself a professional punter? No, a non-greedy recreational yes. |
