bad e/w race for books.
Would you wanna lay Hit The rocks @ price here each /way  @ 10s??
Report the dealer January 27, 2020 1:31 PM GMT
aye comparing win only markets on here, to course bookmakers odds on these type of races, is a tad unfair
Report dr . atkins January 27, 2020 1:32 PM GMT
i layed hit the rocks on the win market and small in the place market
Report dr . atkins January 27, 2020 1:33 PM GMT
should have 2 markets its 2020 not 1974
Report the dealer January 27, 2020 1:37 PM GMT
aye but they haven't so still a tad unfair to be comparing both markets
Report foxy January 27, 2020 1:37 PM GMT
Some books will be win only so there is in fact two markets
Report the dealer January 27, 2020 1:38 PM GMT
sorry foxy

yes you will be right
Report dr . atkins January 27, 2020 1:38 PM GMT
yes it's about time we had 2 markets
Report ItsMeSwaddle January 27, 2020 1:46 PM GMT
Oh so your telling me when there is 7 or 15 runner hcaps they compensate punters by over inflating the win price to compensate the poor each way value?

I get what’s going on now
Report the dealer January 27, 2020 1:57 PM GMT
so if you were an course bookmaker IMS you would happily lay Betfair WIN only market prices each way on course?
Report the dealer January 27, 2020 1:57 PM GMT
its a different market, got nothing to do with anything else
Report sparrow January 27, 2020 2:07 PM GMT
The old traditional level stakes bookmaker bet is well past it's sell by date. And it is the level stakes that is the problem whereby on here you can have say 20% win and 80% place or whatever.
Report ItsMeSwaddle January 27, 2020 3:19 PM GMT
If I was an on course bookmaker I would take a stance on the market.Which would occasionally lead to me being arbed. Because I am a professional I believe in my stance and just because an electronic market on a PC says otherwise it doesn’t make it correct?

Those that currently operate on course should be labelled their actual role that is a commission agent and nothing more. If you want to take guide and hide behind the exchange that’s fine but make a win only market and there is absolutely no need to bet to 125% +.

So to me by the logic “oh it’s a bad each way race” we need to bet to 125-135 %
So by the same logic on a warm summers day down the road you’ve got a 15 runner sprint handicap you should be betting to exactly 100 percent because “it’s a good each way race”?  By betting to 100 percent you’d still be making plenty for example laying a 8/1 in a 15 runner hcap offering 1/4 of the odds each way...the horse is 9.0 on here...but higher than 2/1 to get a place?

I don’t think you should be getting it both ways?

More to the point I don’t think it’s a difficult job, your basically standing as a commission agent? Am I wrong?
Report stewarty b January 27, 2020 3:27 PM GMT
No.
Report the dealer January 27, 2020 3:53 PM GMT
good luck with that project, if it's the golden egg why not charge on and get a bit of it.
Report ItsMeSwaddle January 28, 2020 8:44 AM GMT
I don’t wish to rip punters off thank you.

It'smeItalkaloadoftwaddle, as the dealer says, go ahead and do it - be king of the ring and take the lot. From what you say, you'd be retiring after a year.

Pixie, nice name calling see above ^

Essentially bookmakers are not bookmakers in my opinion and are ripping the unsuspecting public off as commission agents.

As Stew has stated earlier, it should be listed the over round at the top of the board. If people wish to pay 25% of the true value of their winnings to you Commission Agent shysters then so be it!

It’s not for my benefit, I’ll just bet on here thanks.

Are bookmakers not in the game to make a living??

You could be onto something here Swad. Perhaps the big supermarkets could sell their produce at the same price as they pay for it, or pubs could sell beer at the same price as the supermarkets do. Maybe the big house builders could start selling houses at cost. It could happen.....in cloud cuckoo land.

Stop talking tosh!

Oh so if a 14 year old was planted into Tesco and bought a lottery ticket they wouldnt be fined heavily?

Again on the other thread, a classic example of bookmakers wanting it both ways.
