Many regard 'Tommo' as the king of cringe, but I reckon Driver has inched ahead. His use of the phrases "action not too far away now" and "good effort from the winner", repeated before and after every sodding race, make my teeth grind. Who employs this limited-vocabulary clown? I do not expect mellifluous erudition from a commentator, but my dog could do a better job.
