Did anybody realise that Uttoxeter had an inspection

uttox always have an inspection. today is heavy with standing water in places !usually they omit about 4 fences and 2 hurdles . another big party day in the potteries so get it on at all costs . usual drab card .

Standing water and still having light rain with very grey clouds.

Windsor I was on the bha website around 630 this morning Uttoxeter had posted at 602 am the going update and the weather forecast no mention of inspection or standing water it wasn’t until a later post they mentioned it had past but there is standing water.

papers have/had 8 am inspection down for Uttoxeter

Ascot will do wonders to complete two days after all this rain and lots to come

Whoever has taken over from Charlie Moore at Uttoxeter has carried on his legacy,as Windsor Knot says they will always get it on whatever.

I put on the thread last night, i found it unbelievable that no inspection was planned...Maybe John Kettley is paid to give pretty forecasts

Well done to both national hunt tracks today for getting through the cards despite what the cynics thought jockeys had a long look after the 5 th at Uttoxeter a few things were changed then they got on with it.

When i left Ascot this evening  carpark2 was a muddy field ;thought i might get stuck. Hope they open car park1 tomorrow.

I was rather hoping they would abandon that p1ss poor card Today with an eye on Tomorrows card.

Apologies for not replying to you yesterday evening - only just seen your post re: Uttoxeter,  now - when the other Ascot Thread has been brought back.

foxy cp2 is over the road ;cp1 is the big one on the same side of the road as the stands.You turn left into it from the High Street (A329) a bit before where the horses cross the road to be brought to the stables.

This 11.30 inspection shows how little regard the racecourses have for the travelling spectator.To have a decision just over an hour before first race is ridiculous and unfair to everyone.

racecourses are right to give a meeting every chance.

areas of concern in the back straight, looking to move hurdles and change rail configuration in order to create a useable racing line.
weather forecast for the morning is positive.

Call it off stopping the inconvenience and cost for the public who will be travelling and also the trainers and staff ?

I think they should call it off .

Next meeting isn't until 18th Jauary so if they do race today there'll be time for ground to recover. Just hope they sort the car parking otherwise it could require tractors to move cars.

It isn’t idea and there are pluses and minuses both ways ,I think if an owner had a horse running at ascot today they would be desperate to race ,I have turned up racing many times down the years and it’s been called off late and it’s annoying but not as annoying as when one is called off to early.

No,walking the dog for me,decent card at Haydock,think the last time I was there was 2015,i had to stop car to back jollys cracked it for someone when it was a dead heat at Ascot,thought to myself do I need to be travelling all over in the winter when I've things to do at home so sold it although I believe this meeting may have picked up a little since then?
