A great race to watch , and the best horse won without doubt , leading all the way .
Altior was very disappointing , it seems he doesn't want further , he was being niggled a mile out.
The 2 mile division has been very poor in recent years , without the injury prone Douvan he has had it his own way.

I doubt we will see Altior again until next year , a prep race and then probably try to match Badsworth Boy's 3 wins , I don't see him in the Ryanair.

And yes I got it hopelessly wrong.

His sp of 5/2 , was much bigger than expected , he clearly wasn't being hammered by his supporters.

altiors air of invincibilty has gone now and plenty will take him on even back over 2m , what looks like a decent crop of 2nd season 2m  chasers especially from ireland, throw in  douvan and defi du seul and he will need to be at his very best .

Brilliant performance I did sit on the fence as the rating said there were 1lbs between and as Willie said one bad jump would win the race, both jumped well apart from one short one, Cyrname won't be beaten this season imo but unfortunately can't ever best in the top 20 as it won't turn up at the best venue in March.
