Yeah, by the rules that one should have stood as the impeded horse final position was not affected. It's a bit of a lottery with the US Racing it seems the stewards can swing either way on a whim.

Just watched replays. From side on it didn't look too bad but the head on is another story. The demoted horse twice bumped the
other runner, having veered sharply left late on. In the US their rules give the benefit of the doubt to the impeded horse. They will let the result stand only if it is perfectly clear that the second could not have won. In this case the severity of the bumping, evident from the head on, left the stews little choice. |
