Have to agree. Yesterday there was no build up to the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes because of a h’cap hurdle from Navan taking place 5 mins prior to the off time. They switched to Newmarket JUST in time to catch them leaving the stalls. Instead of what was once a well presented Horse Racing programme Saturday saturation has made the experience similar to being in a betting shop with split screens all over the place as we’re switched from race to race as soon as runners cross a finishing line. Replays and analysis are becoming a thing of the past as they just don’t have time to squeeze them in before another race is off and running somewhere. Let’s not forget that we’ve also lost Ascot and Chester from their coverage which, in my opinion has contributed to a quantity over quality feel to the Channel which saddens me, as when I first subscribed I felt that the priority was the other way around.

Just cancelled and been with them since the start - we knew they would need two channels when it was mooted that they were going to cover the Irish Racing and yet it seems they didn't - I will watch any race I have bet in elsewhere.

PERFECT SUMMARY- Absolutely SPOT ON
RTV are most certainly having their 'RATNERS' MOMENT ... and alienating far more viewers, and subscribers - than they are (un)likely to attract new ones.
An archetypal Foot-Shooting exercise and example - and a Massive OWN GOAL, by them

Prefer RTV and the Irish stuff, don't care about the commentary, can usually work it out for myself. To be honest, I'll watch anything that avoids Hayley Moore, Chapman, Fitzgerald, Weaver, and the supporting cast.

I cancelled my subscription last week after having been with them continuously since 2005.Like an earlier poster said it is just like spending the afternoon in the betting shop, being bombarded with one race straight after another. There is often no time to look back at a race and show a head on view because there is another race due to start. I get fed up hearing them say we can watch on racingtv extra to avoid clashes and split screens.I do not want to watch on a tiny laptop screen.Getting the Irish racing was a mistake in my opinion without the option to broadcast it on a 2nd channel.Maybe they will get the message if people keep on cancelling, but i doubt it.

another 100% car crash predicted by every single person besides the one who made the decision, obviously big bucks clouded someones vision
but yet another situation where my new lifes moto,no matter how low you rate yourself always believe till proved otherwise the other fella is thicker than you, trust me saves a lot of heartache

racing uk is better than ever ,if the Irish racing doesn’t suit you just pick your meeting and put on demand on ,I personally have little interest in moderate flat racing both uk and Irish so just choose to watch Irish national hunt ,nobody is been forced to watch or listen to anything or anybody, all in all with club days and the winter season ticket it’s fantastic value and the on demand is excellent.

Irish racing coverage is a lot better now than it was on ATR, especially with more presenters and interviews of winning jockeys and trainers. Unfortunately, they try to pass off RTV Extra as another channel instead of the equivalent of BBC3. This is a deplorable scam, and is particularly noticeable on busy Saturdays when even the results are sometimes not posted. At Navan on Saturday we got no show at all on the final two races, so consequently were unable to bet - I don't care what they put up online cos I can't watch the digital channel and the rest of the races together, and I am on Virgin Media anyway so I can't receive the beast!
Aladdin Sane, just one point about the Middle Park on Saturday - they were there and ready to show it until Siskin was withdrawn, and sensibly crossed to Navan which was already off and running.
Duncan Idaho, I told you you were a fool last December - nothing has changed to make me withdraw those comments!

Yes duncan but you assured us there would be virtually no problems with split screen
Really cant be ar$ed going back 9 months to find the posts in question but (paraphrasing) i stated that there would be no more than 3-4 days with the potential for clashes upto the end of March (i went through the first 3 months fixture list in response to someone who said clashes would be a near daily occurence), and yes i agreed that Summer Saturdays would obviously be an issue
it's not ideal but (as said at time) as someone who rarely bothered with ATR cos of the time delay and poor quality pics, i'm still in favour of the switch (plus i dont think ATR was immune to split screens either)
hardly controversial stuff to be fondly remembering a year on!

but it isnt a daily occurence (and barely happened at all in the 3 months mentioned) and those people were scaremongering
probably said it 3 or 4 times...the reason you remember it is cos it was a lone dissenting opinion against the constant negativity and moaning on here...that is what's repeated time after time
if people are honest, i think they'd say there have been fewer clashes than they feared but i might be wrong

Long term subscriber, but not sure what you mean by 'on demand'. But if it involves watching online, I don't have that option, because I access RTV through Virgin Media

You can watch the whole of any meeting on RTV Extra. What in the hell is the use of that when they are covering six meetings ffs! I do hope they have sacked the inadequate Seb Vance, who promoted the idea to cover his severely spanked arse!

It suits me anorak as there is far to much racing so I just concentrate on the racing that suits me,also you don’t need to put up with adverts and wafflers.you get a head on after each race .

ATR is full of adverts and halfwits , too many women who know very very little .
RTV - I would never watch Irish racing due to my brain not being able to handle those very moronic commentators .
I AM COMPLETELY LOST .

last week when the middle park was split screened & given 2nd preference (no commentary initially) to some poxy hcap hurdle @ navan was 1 of the lowest days I've ever seen on RUK
sadly ITV is even worse imo
