@breadnbutter - yes, you get dutching with multiple selections (win only), I rather like that. CAa see it would be good to have an option to choose to perm instead, but I guess we're out of time for that.
Everyone who says "I don't believe the technical limtations story" - look at it? It looks like the website looked when I got involved here nearly a decade ago, it's not secure/https, I haven't seen any development on it since they introduced EW multis in 2011ish (unless you count turning off Football multis).
I would not be in the least surprised if some component they are using has run off the end of supplier support or security patches or the like.
Shame though, it's a good product for having a £2 fun bet on an otherwise quiet afternoon.

Actually got three sails up on one of those windmills on here over a year ago 15.72 ,19.00 , 27.6 and then a 2 hour sweat which resulted in especially as the last one went off at 102.00 but was never in it.would have been the bet of a lifetime for peanuts

Back when I was first on here in 2010, a L15 I only checked that evening - got 3 out of 4 and won a little over £100 - 4th leg was 70-something BSP and second by a head or less - and that was before they introduced EW multiples.
Pretty sure I'm well down on them over the years, but they've been a good bit of fun between the more serious stuff.

I wondered where Ratner had gone after his jewellery business ,he must work for Betfair . This has to be the worst management decision in the history of running profitable companies . Whoever thought this idea up must be nuts .Rival companies must be howling at that decision .

Another wonderful decision following the withdrawal of numerous US place markets. Are they trying to run the Exchange into the ground so everyone will bet on their Sportsbook bookmaking rubbish?

There have been some massive BFSPs yesterday and today. I wonder whether they have taken a big hit and the technical limitations refer to their hedging software not working properly.

this is a joke , "technical limitations" my arse.just trying to drive you to more profitable sportsbook. why do you think we use the exchange to start with. no doubt other savvy gamblers like myself already barred from BOG etc.....so now running out of options since betfair sold their soul to paddy power.

I'm not a big gambler , but the exchange multiples were often my bet of choice . Sad to see it go . Just like I was sad to see the loss of the Tote credit Club offices at racecourses . I won't bother with the survey , as I think it's pointless . Accountants running and ruining so many things nowadays with their short sighted balance sheet mentality .

copy of email complaint sent to support.en@betfair.com , let's bombard them with complaints........"Good morning ,
I write to complain about your decision communicated by email , text copied below , to withdraw horse racing BSP multiples.
The reason I use Betfair is because of the extra value from exchange betting , as you are more than happy to advertise. This value is compounded on multiples betting.
I can't believe that in a world of rapidly improving technology you are stating " technical limitations " as the reason for withdrawing this facility which has been operating for many years.
I can't help but think this is just a means to drive people to use the more lucrative sportsbook.
As the sportsbook represents just a normal poor value bookmaker and I have been barred from promotions including BOG I shall not be using it for my multiple betting.
I would urge you review this decision.
Regards ,
John Coleshill.

Not long after they started i turned about £2 on sat eve into 11k by Monday evening. Put the £2 on a winner then did a £1.03 crowley yankee at salisbury eve card with 3 winners 1 at 20's and on the Sun did a fehily heinz (only ever done abut 3 in my life) and yankee at Southwell that had the same 3 winners and a nr. Did a few other bets and from memory it was during the Ashes and won on that as well, withdrew a fair chunk of it the next day with no pc or owt. haven't done them much recently mind.

Of course, as it has been pointed out on here before, all multiples can be boiled down to singles and therefore done manually on the exchange. In fact, this is better value because the commission will be below 5% AND the bettor has the flexibility to 'cash out' if he/she desires. The big drawback though is that this manual method requires you to be present at the exchange interface before each race (and after your last result). It also requires some working out to decide your running-on money.

I only ever do single bets on the exchange or elsewhere so am asking a genuine question. I'm a bit puzzled as to how you get people to lay a potential huge payout. Are these really part of the exchange proper ?

If that's correct elisjohn then multis are not part of the exchange model. I've had a look at the page for the first time ever and although I haven't entirely grasped it it looks as though they are based on BFSP. In that case they can't have existed this time 12 years ago. I happen to know because at the time I was running a lay comp and I was getting a lot of stick because I was having to use ISP.I was able to start using BFSP in 2008 when it was introduced.

I don't believe for a minute the reason for doing this , how in a world of rapid technological improvements can an established product be affected by technical limitations. The reason has got to be pure profiteering , a result of Betfair selling their soul to Paddy Power.
I will not be moving to sportsbook or any other " standard " bookmaker for my weekly TV multiple interest bet and give example below to illustrate why I'm not prepared to accept 20% , yes 20% lower returns.
56 x 13p trebles....8 selections , 5 winners Betfair SP - Industry SP.
Indianapolis..........9.03 - 7/1
Power of darkness....4.37 - 11/4
Sapa inca......5.86 - 4/1
Victory day.....2.92 - 7/4
Addeybb.......2.26 - 11/10

Hi Salmon spray , The worry is that the new business model of BF/PP is no longer happy with making profit on exchange markets with overounds of 101% and will close all exchange betting to force people onto "normal" markets with overounds of 120%.

There's a difference coey and that is their rake from the exchange model proper is risk-free. Laying them themselves isn't and it's hardly a viable business model if not only you but your competitors are laying them much shorter.

impossible, the antepost multi on betfair sportsbook is easy, but sometimes slow, go to sbook page , horses, then future races then pick your races, they have quite a lotup.

"I'm a bit puzzled as to how you get people to lay a potential huge payout. Are these really part of the exchange proper ?"
No, BF lay the liability.
As to not being able to see how they can make money doing so - if BSP represents fair value (and it appears to or they'd be strategies that were profitable blindly backing or laying at BSP) then laying BSP minus 5% is free money to BF.
And finally as to how long they have been doing them - when I started on here in 2010, they had Football (back or lay) multis and HR Win multis. EW HR came in around 2011 and the Football multis (which were at fixed odds not SP) went on the merger with PP.

Took a time to get used to doing mixed horse racing bets on Sportsbook instead of on the exchanges. Used it for a few days and now unable to log into mixed bets on sportsbook for some reasson or other. It lists numerous sports but when click horse racing nothing. So sportsbook has now disappeared for me so unable to place multiple horse racing bets on both exchanges and sportsbook. It leaves me with no option but to switch to some other service like **** or other bookmakers. Sad as have loved Betfair exchange betting and fun has now gone out of having a bet as very seldom back singles.
