I have raised a couple of issues with Betfair around their Live Video in particular with ATR tracks, Betfair say they are unaware of either.
1) On Boxing day last year the latency on ATR tracks via LV became the lowest it has ever been. This continued for around 6 weeks, after which (imo) it slowed, albeit still far better than it has been for the previous years. Anyone agree/disagree?
2) The stopping of the slow mo freeze frame a yard or so before the line in close contests in particular at the Ascot July meeting and also a few occasions at Chester. I noticed that the slow mo worked okay at Ascot on the Shergar cup. Has it been sorted or have there been other instances of this?
I would appreciate others thoughts on the above and feel free to add any other issues regarding the ATR /Sky racing tracks and i'll pass them on, or tell them to read this thread!

why do betfair continually deny they are unaware of anything, how? do they not read the forum, do they not look at twitter, i really do despair, where are the 'LV team' they used to have, can they not give out any answers on anything regarding lv......what is the current latency, what was the previous latency, what is the maximum latency we can get to
i did testing about 3 years ago with atr and betfair when the video kept cutting out 2f from home, 5 days was not enough sample size but we did resolve the problem, they need to listen to all us in runners who know what they are talking about, trouble is anyone half decent has left betfair a long time ago hence why it is in the state it's in

To say they are unaware of issues just sums up the company's attitude to customers.
LV is a joke, and has been for years. Almost daily problems over the last few weeks alone include freezing slow-mo before the line, black screens, white screens, coloured 'test card' screens, messages that you haven't bet £2 even if you've bet hundreds, service unavailable until seconds before post time, CS ignoring complaints, pics stuttering as soon as the race starts.

Id be surprised if there ever was anything resembling a 'live video team'. The general business practice is to strip away all value until you have nothing more than a bare bones minimum expenditure....refering to members of staff as though they are either specifically trained in an area or not just a dog's body expected to do all things for as little pay as possible is the general proceedure by corporations to appear customer centric.
You will get a limited response as most aren't bothered as they are using face time pictures as the BLV is such a poor product and RUK pictures are as slow as they have ever been !
I think youre right bootman, lv was slightly faster on sky tracks when they first went over to sky.
I'd be asking why is it now not as fast as it was as it worked perfectly, so no excuses as to why slowed down slightly
and I'd be asking again, why is rtv uk faster than rtv Ireland when both being used on fibre

Can't disagree with what else has been said. My LV issues tend to be cyclical, I had a 3 month period where I never had an issue, but the last 2 months it's been 1 problem after another, so they should be well aware of performance (lack of) issues.

thebootman , any chance of asking ATR to provide betfair the ability to provide us to watch races with full screen HD pictures

The photo at Windsor hibby mentions was laughable. There's a couple of threads somewhere it was documented for a few days then I haven't noticed it since but I give a few sky tracks a miss now so I'm not the best source.

i've seen internal e-mails from the head of vip at the time, there were 'teams', are there any now, very very much doubt it

Speed and reliability were both way better at the beginning of the year, the latter definitely slipping lately. Slow mo absolutely was a thing (not sure now) as well. Unbelievable that they do not have someone whose job it is to make sure all is as it should be at the start of every meeting imo.
Lingfiled is playing as hard as before the switch to skysportsracing if not harder

add that to massive picture speed delays...

Hibby, I agree with all you see about pic speeds etc but tbh on the in running front, I'm having my best week for ages
last month was good as well, still plenty to be had in running imo however 100% agree the pics could be better and should be

11k done 1.01 there and 69 matched at a 1000 on the winner, as said there's still plenty to be had!!

I think it swings in roundabouts. Some days/weeks are good then it's poor then good again
Could be a number of reasons, certain tracks, weather, holidays, facetimers etc etc but its been the same for years.
Agree liquidity could be better and it's not perfect but as said there's still plenty, it's just maybe harder to get it
anyway, hopefully it picks up for you again!

i look at every winner's graph after the race...
there used to be 4 figures many times as you go from 1.01 to say 1.3...
now it is very occasional that you see a 4 figure sum apart from 1.01...
and it shows how bad things have got that you say 11k at 1.01 is a good indication of in running liquidity...
a few years ago that would have been 4 times as much on that horse...

the bot was turned up a notch at 7pm on fri 2nd..been very very hard ever since.
sounds about right to me mr hunt coz it's been bl00dy awful here...
i was averaging £20-50 a race before 7pm on the 2nd..now averaging £10-18..almost impos as having to risk tens of thousands 4-5 times a race to win 15 quids.
did you not have a similar thing a few months ago greenie, were getting decent matches, then it got harder somehow and

yes james i did..but as stated,on fri 2nd at 7ish something radically changed..
Betfair can teak things however they want...
anyone who thinks differently is extremely naive imv...

hopefully anyone who has been doing it for a decade or so has made their money and when it all ends they can walk off in to the distance with a few £ in their pockets...

I'm not saying something hasn't changed btw just find it a bit rich you just expect to win big amounts all the time

you don't survive on here for years without evolving, there comes a time when you have to listen to your figures and weigh up if it's worth the beyond tedious daily grind

fully agree hibs except for escape the country! place in the sun for me
all the mug players are skint had to happen sooner or later and so we are left with fast pic sharks and some decent home players and no new fish coming into the deep lagoon the game can only go 1 way now

not really when you cant even make out the silks and running at 15fps..swear they all use a 2 megapixel camera to send the facetime
once again if using chelmsford feed for the curragh its half second quicker and only blink of a eye behind whattsapp

If they lv irish can be a smidgeon behind racinglucks WhatsApp stream they should be fast all the time.

Tramore is now fast as well btw. Satellite last night, fibre speeds today
yes bout .6 behind whatsapp when using thirsk feed.. not as fast as the curragh
how far behind is Tramore via the Tramore lv link to your whatsaap, racing?
will check next race id say another .5 if using uk link is .5 quicker but will check next to confirm
this is how when at an ruk track,sometimes the other ruk tracks are only .5 behind live.

sky has always been about level with live video for RTV on 1.0 buffer for me
on 0 buffer live video might be 0.2 - 0.3 quicker than sky
