Afternoon harry31.

If you are staying in the centre there are pubs everywhere really. You have Corn Street with a fair few bars (Walkabout for Sport). You have the Waterfront which is basically bar after bar and Millenium Square behind that, Kings Street also has a fair few pubs and bars and a couple that serve some craft type beers, Baldwin Street (bottom of Corn Street) has a few pubs (Birkett Tap, Fish Market and BrewDog all 'crafty' type pubs.

Maybe worth a visit up to Clifton village - very nice but bit pricier than elsewhere, defo worth going to The White Lion (Avon Gorge Hotel) and sit out the back on the terrace if it is a nice day in view of the Clifton Suspension Bridge.

Bath Races - I haven't been for years because it just used to be basically "sh1te". Unsure what improvements have been made since I last made so somebody else would have to comment on that. 20/20 Cricket up The County Ground is usually decent and a few pubs close by, and you can walk down Glos Road after with plenty of pubs/bars to choose from before making it into town (stay on the main road and don't venture off though).

Tourist wise it could be worth looking for some sort of Tourist Guide/tour, may cost a few quid but at least it won't be an all day thing and will show you around the main places with some history.

Curry house - I don't do curry so I cannot help you there!

I know it’s not a popular view but I really like going to Bath races.my advice though would be to book tickets in advance for the roof terrace, they restrict numbers admitted so best to book, great view & much easier to get drinks, seating ,food etc

Only been in the Lime Kiln once, before we went to gig and it was midweek so only a few in there then. Think it was an 'ale' pub from what I remember.

If you want to see Bath (it's gorgeous) while you're there, I really recommend the (free) Mayor's Guides walking tours of the City - I've done a couple of them.

On a different note - there are obviously a few people from Bath/Bristol on here. Maybe a forum "South West get together for a few drinks night" is needed!

I live in Henleaze and would be up for a forum meet up in the autumn. Though I think we may need an advance truce between the pro and anti Bath racecourse factions.
