6.35 ffos Las, OK its just around evens, but looks a handicap blot,

what do you make of skinflint in that race koi ,regards its point form ?
By:

When: 25 Jun 19 11:49
It's point form is average, been running in restricteds... More often than not held up, but that could be a mistake around here as Midnight Folie should lead and will be hard to peg back.
Midnight Folie had a p2p rating of 111, runs off 85 here so is still really  well in.

All I can find is 42+, bound to be a bit higher than that,
but can't see it anywhere near MF on form, I do see it's had a wind op so could improve alot

Not sure where koi is looking but skinflint is rated 99 but as we have seen with Ronava twice in the past week those ratings don’t always count for much and don’t really equal bha ratings. Midnight Folie should win tonight as she probably has about 30lbs in hand the only concern is the quick turnaround. My worry about skinflint is the trip as he looks like he needs shorter

cheers both ,just trying to eliminate all the negs ,my worry was the same quick turnaround ,but he won easy last time so should be ok

Thought over the last three last time Midnight Folie looked a bit jaded so I wouldn't be mad keen to get stuck in tonight. No bet in the race so GL all.

elise - you would have to triple the 30 years, just to make sure we are all long gone by then.

... ERR 4 lengths behind Mart/Dopple. ....

Mid-division, awkward 4th, steady progress after 14th, disputing close 2nd when pecked 2 out (usual 3 out), stayed on but not pace to threaten winner

Koi, great to read your invaluable contributions again. You're  the must-read hunter-chase maestro. Looking forward to the evening hunter meets, take no heed of the trolls. I'm indebted to you sir - Thank you!

Strange how koi thinks pointing ratings equal what they should be rated under rules but then rubbishes bha ratings in hunter chases. That mark of 111 doesn’t mean a thing under rules and if they did ronava wouldn’t have won at Stratford or Hexham last week. Like I say though the horse has got about 30lbs in hand for me although the longer they can keep him in class 5 events the better.

Much as I respect Koi PTP ratings against BHA ratings are nothing more than a guide. The reality is many ex rules horses thrive over the smaller fences pointing and the slower pace also helps. This can led to inflated PTP ratings even for younger horses following the maiden and restricted routes.

The horse last night was a blot for certain and would have won regardless but I would not be a backer next time if he is reassessed in a better grade and would be wary if he ran before that.
