Can anybody explain how Betfair have taken my lay in running on Headman in The 3pm Newbury, when the site was down ..i put up to lay at 3/1 and evens and odds on and somehow the 3/1 was laid.??? Yet the evens and odds on were not.??
Impossible - according to their Rulrex ... and they have even Teeted same, earlier today ...

Hello, All matched bets will stand, unmatched and keep bets will be cancelled on markets which are In-Play during an outage. No matched bets will be void due to an outage.

If the site is down it doesn't matter a flying fook if they cancel them or not, the numpties
big aitch 18 May 19 16:49
It doesn't matter at all, if the site is fooked no one will be able to back or lay so any bets up there that are unmatched will naturally lapse.
------------
If you are adamant that your LAY at 3/1 was Matched ... Then CHECK the TIME SHOWN on the MATCHED bet.... and post that TIME/Bet details on this thread.

Just another thought ...
Are you sure that it was in the WIN Market - and you have not, inadvertently, LAID 3/1 in the PLACE Market - PRE-rce.
That is the Only logical answer that I can think of.

mightymac - The OP is saying that the LAY bet was 'IN-RUNNING'
The SITE had been DOWN for fully 15 Minutes BEFORE this race ... which, of course, meant that this race NEVER went IN-PLAY ... and, therefore, the horse could NOT go down to 3/1
It won at 12/1.

I don't have exact times to hand, but there were two very distinct periods where the site was down for me and it was impossible to place a bet. In between the two, I did successfully manage to do so (rugby, not racing). Is it possible, the OP also managed to do so during that window or resurrection?

I have answered your query in my 21@54 post/reply yo mightymac.
The site CRASHED as they SUSPENDED the 2:45 race from Thirsk ... However they must have been having trouble with the Supend as it did not Suspend until the race Finished. * We had a similar CRASH a few days ago - when a Race SUSPEND LOCKED a race Closed - and then they, eventually, took the site down. Today - after the 2:45 debacle - Betfair almost immediately SUSPENDED ALL imminent races ... meaning that people could NOT place a bet on ANY of them.
This action, of course, included the race in question on THIS Thread - the 3:00 pm Newbury.
The market NEVER Re=Opened for this race and CLOSED/under SUSPEND for the duration of the race, and afterwards.
There was therefore - NO IN-RUNNING market on this event - The Prices on the Market Frame never moved - they could NOT - the Market was CLOSED.
There are only TWO possible EXPLANATIONS, therefore...
1. Betfair have been 'helping themselves' 'in house' ... If that be the case, and can be proven, then the company is entirely UNTRUSTWORTHY and will be FINISHED
2. As I have posted earlier at 19:27 ...

The OP has neither denied nor confirmed that possibility.
He needs to - by posting (Cut & Paste) his bet - Simple ... then we know whether to definitely take this further.

Trouble is when site is down we cannot see what is going on , so betfair can make up whatever it likes and there is nothing we can do about it , today has been a game changer for me , never trust this company it’s rancid.

Is to merely READ his - 'My Account' - 'Betting Profit & Loss'
Change to 'Yesterday' - now - and Select 'Settled'

To confirm whether his LAY at 3/1 actually was in the WIN Market - OR - inadvertently in the PRE-Race PLACE Market (Even if 'Keep' Selected.
That being the only rational surmise ... other than - what would be an alarming scenario - of Betfair hoovering up bets for themselves

Just a thought, but they have clearly rationalised BFSP at some point. How does BF do this when the market is suspended? Do Keep Bets get used in the rationalisation process in this instance? Is it possible that they do and that there was a lot more money looking to back at SP than lay and so your bets got caught up during this? (I know it says that Keep Bets would be cancelled, but does that only apply once the market is at the very point of going in-play?) I remember one horse in the Grand National one year traded at Evens and returned a stupidly short BFSP for similar reasons (though the site was available throughout at that stage).

That sounds typical for current day Betfair. I remember in the early days, it took them over 24 hours to answer an email and they apologised and credited my account with £10. I think they only employ bots now.
