Thanks, downloaded your book. I really enjoy that sort of thing!

For some reason I can create posts but can't reply to them!

I used to enjoy arbing, but always fancied writing a book. I ended up doing crime thrillers, after randomly deciding to work in a prison

Fifty Years of Fear

“I used to enjoy arbing, but always fancied writing a book” must rank as one of the great non sequiturs of all time.

D G,

His form isn't anything special and I'd be surprised if he could win a race over here from his current mark of 143, which is a straight conversion of his French rating.

The horse he dead heated with in his last chase win, has run twice since and been pulled up both times. The horse he beat in his first chase win is stall a maiden after three more tries over fences.

The fact that he's been avoiding Auteuil and running at the lesser tracks round Paris is usually a pretty good indicator that the trainer knows he's not top class.

Thanks Alan

Just curious as to why they would come over here when prize money is so much better in France. Sounds like they are just over for a jolly.

The NH tracks around Paris are all closed between Xmas and the start of March, so they'd have to move the horse down to Cagnes Sur Mer or Pau. And having won two chases, Matfog wouldn't qualify for most of the races at those tracks anyway.
