Been well overdue that. He's been a frustrating horse. On that showing he can win another one.

admiral rooke looked a different horse settled in behind that fast pace(not sure if that was by design), been surprised the last few jockeys have been "gunning" him from the stalls  and burning him out at the finish.

they used to do the same when he was with michael dods, would have won a few races if they had held on to him a bit.

very well done with the win.

Yes well done BB, had turned off after the fall of Gentlemen and forgot you had the Admiral running, appears to have won easily, good luck with the Lion today, will be some feat if he can round of his campaign by winning this.

Cheers folks. Part of the reason we were making the running with him was because he had shown some form for Dods doing that which would have been more than good enough to win some of the races he had been running in. Though trying it in blinkers over a mile had nothing to do with me! Clearly being able to sit just off a good pace suited him but you don't always get that on the all-weather tracks. In that form he will win again.
Lion is obviously facing a completely different calibre of opposition today and is unproven on the track. He's proven himself good enough to take his chance in this race. I won't be stunned if he wins but the track is a worry and am more hopeful than confident.
