Moore's ride was not the debutant there and he rode it like it was,he thought the other O'Brien horse was actually going better than it was and it barely scraped by him.Definitely looked like one that got away imho.

Report differentdrum • April 13, 2019 8:54 PM BST
The 2yo was obviously expected and ridden accordingly. If only that was the case with all of the short priced 2yo's. The race was set up for Magical. Sat in behind a strong pace and provided she was fit enough was always going to win. In between you had the couldn't be bothered effort on Le Brivido. As a punter with no inside knowledge it is too much of a guessing game with this outfit.
Report impossible123 • April 13, 2019 8:54 PM BST
I'm not the least surprised Moore is spending more time riding in Ireland than at any time as O'Brien had recently alluded too - he needs to get to know the AOB's horses he's riding; I remember Cecil saying the same thing about, and Cauthen was given a stern word for not getting to the course on time to ride Faustus (plz correct if I'm wrong) in a big meeting.

Good to see Magical has trained on, and her 2nd to Enable (in America) and good run in the Arc over 12f than her usual 8f were no fluke; she won very easily today. If only she'd been well and sufficiently forward to make Oaks last season......
Report workrider • April 13, 2019 9:10 PM BST
I was in Naas today and Magical looked very well, she got a tiny bit warm and that put me off backing her, it was bloody cold there today. Much more to come from her this year and the way she won today I'd keep her at 1m2f...

'workrider', more to come from Magical indeed. I recalled Magical coming alongside Enable in America going the better over 12f, but was outran in the end; she was also tenderly ridden (awful draw) in the Arc.

These lads are all about producing Stallions, and mares with as much black type as they can. They know certain races stack up well on a page, and they target them accordingly.

They dont give a flying you know what about punters. They are a business and their business is bloodstock.
Report Deptford • April 14, 2019 12:22 PM BST
That is bleeding obvious but the stewards need to grow a pair, but they are fooking cowards, the interview with the trainer after Le Briv told you how easy a race they wanted to give it

Report differentdrum • April 17, 2019 1:59 PM BST
This is going to be a very long thread.

How much did winning that race mean to him? I suspect hardly anything.

Turned what should have been a draw advantage into a nightmare. He was so badly positioned the horse would have needed a miracle almost from the start.
Report differentdrum • April 17, 2019 2:00 PM BST
It is worrying that some people 'guessed' that would happen - 13/8-3/1.
Report asparagus • April 17, 2019 2:02 PM BST
Anyone who thinks that was a bad ride has no understanding of the sport and ought to give up. At the very best he might have got 4th instead of 5th. The Johnston horse drawn next to him always goes forward. Moore had to expect that and would have been in position to track him through. Doyle took a pull after half a furlong and before he knew it his position wasn't ideal but through no fault of his own. The 2nd came from well behind him anyway and with a more troubled run and Breath of Air didn't find much when it got space. If you bet him to come 4th feel marginally unlucky. If not stop being ridiculous.
Report GLASGOWCALLING • April 17, 2019 2:03 PM BST

Been at it for years wd not trust this jockey with a quid   Why u think he lost his riding licence in Tokyo thier was very irregular betting patterns , it was printed in the racing post !
Never had a bet on race but it looked a total not tried today never put it in race until it was over looked like he was riding in conjunction with the betting pattern not someone I wd trust with my money

Moore was wide awake there (for a change)!
Report shoodacoodadidnt • April 19, 2019 2:45 PM BST
Well that's the kind he CAN win on - first time out against multiple recent winners - on course bookies would love it ;) .... regular punters enemy no. one - no doubt

Even when he wins. CryCry
Report shoodacoodadidnt • April 19, 2019 2:54 PM BST
You will find there are one or two TOP jockeys (and I think there is NO doubt about their talent, including Moore) who win plenty but for whatever reason (I wouldn't want to speculate) their wins are particularly unpredictable AND regular punters (not those with the inside track) are nearly ALWAYS on the wrong ones - it's just a fact of racing and a VERY important one - it's what keeps on-track bookies going.
Report differentdrum • April 19, 2019 3:23 PM BST
I think the above is a fair point. He has loads of fancied rides. How are you going to be able to differentiate between the winners and the losers? One things for sure there will be plenty more losers than winners and plenty of the winners won't be any great value. He just rode Encrypted for the same stable and it punctured two furlongs out with the jock quickly giving up and the horse eventually finishing last. Plenty of each-way money no doubt down the drain. Typically they were all over trainer and jockey with the winner but nobody is going to question how poor it was to send a horse out to run that badly half an hour later.
Report impossible123 • April 19, 2019 3:50 PM BST
What happened to Encrypted? Did Moore run out of energy?
